Cool, I’m pretty sure that the reason it goes up at the end is because it moves prograde slightly faster than the ISS so it enters a higher orbit. I love seeing orbital mechanics in motion.

It makes total sense when you see it this fast why the capsule needs to make that curve when it departs the ISS.

Just curious, if it's departing (I assume it will go back down to earth) would it not be better to depart facing the opposite way of the ISS' travel to use less fuel to slow down, rather than speed up then slow down?
Maybe it's the ISS fuel you wouldn't want to use to face it the other way.
