HTC with the 32 gig's onboard is another thing to consider... On the other hand over the past 6 years (3 Verizon contracts) I've had to replace the battery on all three phones before the 2 year contracts were up, and it scares me not being able to change the battery on the HTC.

Nice overview Geoff. If only HTC had the 16 megapixels it would be the best of both, as it stands both are great with compromises. Just for reference though, your HTC M8 screen may need some settling in time and the yellow tint could be the adhesive between display & front glass. When I compare my HTC M8 with my GS4 Google Edition - the M8 has the whiter whites.

Nice review Geoff.   Sticking with my Nexus 4 as my daily for this year but still good to know what's out there.

My iPhone 5C still gets no love I'm afraid - the battery is just too bad for me to use daily - it won't even make it to 6pm without totally konking out most days whilst the Nexus 4 usually gets to 10pm with 30% or more.  Out of the 3 iPhone's I've owned, the 5C is by far the most disappointing daily usage wise.  Does the 5S have a better battery than the 5C?
