Loved this all my life, the grown ups sang along to this song in the 60s so we all did too

Such a song of its time but also timeless. Thanks Tasha. A solo performer at a local restaurant played this for my parents' 50th anniversary.

At 62 ... I've heard this song many times, and it's one of my Prime Music picks. I wish simple and fun music was still produced today. Thanks for playing it.

This was one of my dad's favorite songs - reminds me of him every time I hear it! I'm glad you like it too 😉

It's a great song. Roger and I came from the same little town and up until a few years ago we had a little festival in his honor. Great song! Great man! Great memories!

An ode to the hobo life! 4 bits was 50 cents, so pushing that broom was just enough to rent that 8x12 room for the night.

To show what a prolific songwriter he is, as this song demonstrates itself, he would in the mid 80's write all the songs and music for a Broadway musical., Big River. It was an adaption of Mark Twain's Huck Finn. Miller took home a Tony for his efforts.

Heard it growing up back in the 60's and 70's. Good memories of those times with my step mom and my dad. We're raised in country music mostly and since my dad played in a country band since I was born in 56. I listened to his Greatest Hits not to long ago.

My mom bought the album almost 60 years ago & I remember it playing all the time. Lots of amusing stories. I also remember Roger Miller's TV show & we all watched it.

Bringing me back to the back seat of my dad's car as a kid on a family road trip.

This was such a hit song in 1965 that the inevitable answer record emerged in the same year by country artist Jody Miller (no relation), "Queen of the House." Jody used Roger's music and Mary Taylor's lyrics to decribe the day-to-day life of a stay-at-home housewife. You'd get a good laugh out of it, Tasha.

I grew up loving his songs. One I always got a kick out of as a kid was ...You can't rollerskate in a buffalo herd ...

His wife did a parody of this song "Queen of The House" Judy Miller, I think.
