Sony A7C vs A7CII Comparison - Worth the upgrade?

Hey everyone! Today I am comparing the Sony A7C to the A7CII in a real world setting for both photo and video. Both are amazing cameras with a great feature set, but there are some differences that might mean one camera body is better than the other for your particular style. In this video I compare the ergonomics and camera builds, human autofocus, image quality and usability at a portrait photography session. I also test both cameras out for video, comparing video autofocus, colours, picture profiles, IBIS and more. I hope you find this video helpful! Let me know if you want to see more camera comparisons and which ones you want me to compare in the comments.

I preordered the A7Cii, canceled, and bought the A7C plus 4 lenses for the same money (24mm G, 40mm G, 75mm Samyang 1.8, and TT Artisan 50mm .95). I'm not a pro and I think this setup is more financially reasonable for my uses as a photographer.

Im very happy with my A7c. I just got it last month for $1050 1.5k shutter ❤
It’s a nice backup to my a7iii but i must say i like it better lol

One advantage that A7c has over A7c2 is battery life. 740 CIPA vs 540 CIPA.

Appreciate the review…I often found I preferred the A7c, just looked a bit more realistic. Subjective of course.

Great video - extremely helpful and pushed me to stick with the A7C since really mostly a photographer. I like your honesty on a lot of new cameras really being smaller iterations rather "game changers". Thanks for the video!

you don't need more than 10 mpix for social media. 4K photo is 8MP!! With 24 mpix you can get 24x16 inch prints. I don't need the latest A7C II maybe someone else does but I only post pictures for online purposes and print very rarely. I also shoot 4K 25p almost all the time. I only have two 2K monitors so why do I need more.

Sony's 24 mp of the a7iii and a7c is legendary, best skin color among all recent cameras

Thank you Julia for saving me a few hundred bucks, as A7c is my secondary camera to the R5

I liked and still like my a6000, but after switching to the a7iii, what I loved most was its larger size and more buttons.

Great job on the video. Im a hybrid shooter so definitely going to upgrade, but if I was stills focused I'd be very conflicted. The new evf is a great help though. Its basically like the eliminated the little black frame that the old one had.

I was hopping you would talk about the dedicated AI chip for tracking human faces and subjects as well as objects... Nice comparison between the two the video capabilities and IBIS are great as well... 👍

Was waiting for it long before it came out. Was considering getting it with the sigma 24-70 f2.8 art but now I m more into the tamron 28-75mm f2.8 g2. This range a, ideal for me. Coming from canon rp. The best rf lenses, are way beyond my reach and the lack of third party Lenses s really a drawback
