American voters had an open book test and overwhelmingly failed.

$2600 is the low end and doesn't factor in the greed of corporate America!!

Do they teach anything in US schools, aside from 'guns are good' and 'abortion is bad'? How can a whole nation be so utterly ignorant about such a basic economic principle?

Here in Canada we look at the U.S. as a parter and friend. We have given tax credits, incentives for businesses, work visas, and support for automotive, banking, oil & gas, lumber, minerals and pharmaceutical industries. We have given Canadian lives in Wars.

We have smart, capable people who are tired of being chained to this.

Bring it on ! We all know what to do with bullies.

Canada first ! 🇨🇦

Crazy economics” indeed! I’ve been stashing cash like a squirrel, sitting on a $144k emergency fund, ready to dip my toes into investing. Now Trump’s tariffs come along, making even guitars an economic battlefield. What’s next, a “freedom fee” on coffee? I’m just looking for a good headstart in this wild investing world—preferably not in tariff-laden imports. Any ideas?

President Sheinbaum of Mexico doesn't want oranges from Florida. She prefers Oranges from Spain. Spain exports many Oranges to Mexico. She is highly intelligent.

It's hard to believe that tariffs need to be explained. American's are as thick as a brick.

This is foolishness. Trump's foolish tariffs won't make America great again.

The fact some adults don't have a clue how tarrifs work is shocking. News readers shouldn't have to be informing the public about such basic things and certain people still won't believe what the Murky Mango is doing to the population.

America is about to discover what half of Britain did when they voted to leave the EU.

Madness. A massove, avoidable act of self-harm. 🙄

Just like in healthcare. A 10% tariff means the corporations will increase price by 13% - 20% and blame it on the tariff.

The Brits: We will impose sanctions on outselves and harm ourselves worse than anyone in history!
Yay, Brexit!

Tariff is going to hurt food prices. Lets get real, it will hurt everything. Including, doctors/hospitals, because they have to buy equipment and supplies plus now their workers will want raises. The rising costs will not end. Who will this benefit, not the people.

President Hoover was the last president to impose tariffs on other nations. The South hated those tariffs and threatened succession. Hoover's tariffs also caused the GREAT DEPRESSION! Maybe, next time some citizens of this beloved nation will take TIME to investigate those candidates campaigning for the highest office in our nation. THE PRESIDENCY!

Taxation without representation, hmmm, he didn't ask the American people if we wanted the tariff as the king of England didn't ask the colonists if they wanted the tax on stamps or on tea. Things cost enough already Mr. Trump.

It's not just the (threat of) tariffs; it is the insults that come with them. This Canadian will not forget.

It isn't just $4000. When that is spread across the spectrum of the population, certain sectors will suffer much greater than others. Tariff impact is not a straight line. It is a curve with a huge peak. Seniors, disabled, veterans, low income earners, manufacturing sector workers, homeowners, families are hurt the worse, because it takes a larger chunk out of their already tight disposable income to pay for these things, often necessities, not luxuries. Remember that next time your elderly mother has to make a choice between paying rent and the bills, and eating properly. Her $4000 is extremely painful in many ways. Same disabled and vets who fought for you, who now have a harder time making ends meet in the country they risked their lives to defend. For Trump, he can easily absorb that $4000 and not even realize it happened. You suffer, not him.
