This presentation will discuss the concept of Homegrown National Park and its importance in conserving and enhancing biodiversity in our landscapes and show how Pollinator Pathways can be used to build local sections of the "Park" from our individual residences, business properties, and public spaces. A live demonstration of the iNaturalist citizen science app will illustrate how native plants, pollinators, and other wildlife can be cataloged as the pathways grow. We will use the Ledyard Pollinator Pathway as an example of how to create and grow a citizen-led biodiversity corridor in any locality. Want to get started now? Click on the Pollinator Pathways link at the bottom of the PlantscapesNE.com homepage.
Recorded on 6/21/2022 with Ledyard Library in Ledyard, CT and cosponsored by the Preston, Mystic & Noank, and New London Libraries in CT.
