Ever wondered how to fix a broken mirror? Surely it can be salvaged in some way? Well in this one, Joe tries just that. Rather than trying to hide the breakages, he makes a feature of them using copper pigment resin. Think he managed to avoid the 7 years bad luck on this one?

That looks great! That mirror would absolutely have gone to waste. Thanks for a terrific salvage idea!

It appears you redefined "repair". I suggest changing the title of this video.

That's a fantastic salvage and quite like Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery.

Good call.

Joe it’s really hard to use a diamond cutter, i have been in the glass industry for over 20 years look at getting a toyo tc20 cutter I use these everyday. Different thicknesses of glass require different cutters/pressure also cutting small amounts from the edge is difficult to do 4mm glass 8mm will give u a clean edge depending on practice also pliers for glass are wider jawed and smooth

What did you use for the back of the mirror?

I bought three mirrors off of amazon and they all arrived at my house shattered to bits. I think I might try this instead of buying a fourth.... :/ thanks for the advice!

This really cool! My bathroom mirror in my medicine cabinet is like two sliding doors in tracks and one of them broke. It's a vintage medicine cabinet and I like it a lot so I wanted to salvage it. I glued the cuts back together with two part epoxy and I am thinking of putting gold over the glued sections like Kintsugi. I did a type of Kintsugi affect with a few pieces of broken pottery I had and loved it. This, what you did here, is really inspirational to me too! <3

Maybe not the intended purpose of this video but you just helped me "salvage" an important part of the story I'm working on!!

Just found this 👍 great vid, but it made me cringe, watching you handling all that glass with no PPE on your hands😬 great result though 👏👏

Neat idea to reclaim a broken mirror. I made a mirror collage once from salvaged pieces from a clothing store that was remodeling. Painted some thick chipboard black, placed the mirror pieces, and added glow in the dark stars in between. I then put them in window frames and they looked fantastic until our house burned down. I hope that wasn't broken mirror bad luck. Do be careful though, as I cut the sh** out of my hands making the mirror collages. So don't be a dummy like I was and try to run your finger along the edge to smooth the glue. D'oh! ;)

Yeah, that's not actually "fixing" it. Could idea, tho.

You didn't repair the mirror back to its original look. You salvaged it and it looks very ugly. I would throw it away.
