China's universities now dominate top science, engineering fields, deepening its grip on industries

In Western governments' attempts to relocate key supply and industrial chains to North America and Europe, formidable obstacles are now evident in higher education.

Chinese universities dominate the most important fields of study across the hard sciences and engineering. To challenge China in the key industries such as energy, telecommunications, nanotechnology, quantum computing, mining, transportation, and materials science, the United States and Europe are already far behind in the race for future talent. Chinese universities are of higher quality at a far lower cost, and will be the first choice for international students in engineering and scientific disciplines.

I'm an expat who left America about ten years ago when I saw the writing on the wall, but I didn't predict all of this - China literally dominating in every sector in just a decade. I thought this would take generations. Now it seems that if I want an advantage for the next generation, I'll need to make sure my children learn Chinese. Times are changing fast.

I've made learning Mandarin a priority for my kids. They must have the option to move and/or do business in China.
Europe is now effectively a Disney Land and the US is actively hostile. If China can help the rest of the world modernise the change to global world order would be absolutely legendary.

The Chinese has d drive. They like to do business too. And they are very hardworking. They constantly think about how to do things better, more efficient n more cost effective. They also has an eagerness to gain more knowledge.

Don’t forget lots of MIT Stanford Harvard’s top students are Chinese ethnic. And those Maths Olympics and STEM related world competitions winners are mostly Chinese from America or China.

There are other videos which highlight the hounding, discrimination and racism shown towards Chinese students and professionals (some local-born) working in the US, or more generally in the Five Eyes countries, based on accusations of spying and intellectual theft. This is in spite of the enormous contribution in both financial and intellectual contributions made by these overseas Chinese. As a result, many of them have decided to return to China and there has been a significant drop in Chinese students enrolling in Five Eye universities, causing economic hardship to these universities. As this video points out, with advances in science and technology in China coupled with rising living standards surpassing those in the West, there is no longer any need for Chinese students to go abroad to study or seek better career prospects.

The difference is between living in a virtual world and a real world!

And the difference in producing the real stuff and importing from others.

Today I was in CVS pharmacy in US, and flipping through labels of variety health care products on the shelves. They are all either made in China or distributed by US firms without showing the origins.

What a virtual world that Americans are living in!

Recently I observed that many Chinese Universities HAD Renovated, Upgraded, Expanded or Added Extra Faculties across many Cities in China. In tiktok, many foreign students are already showing Videos' of their Campus life in China. What SHOCKED me is the level of facilities, comfort, pricing, facilities, etc that University students have now . EXTREMELY CHEAP Lunches at US2/- per meal !!!! (WTF !), good facilities, new accommodation in campus, sports facilities, excellent libraries, etc. Not SURPRISED that many Foreign students across AFRICA, Middle East, S. America, ASIA, etc will be sending their children to China now. Imagine the long term effects on Students who had spend their BEST time of their LIFE in China. That LONG TERM "investment" by the Chinese Govn into Universities today ... Will have a significant "RETURN" in the future for CHINA in many ways.

The only reason Aussie "Universities" are so well represented in mining, is 'cause Australia is almost literally a big open-cast mine. Our pretend economy is really that of a Third World Nation - digging it out of the ground so more advanced Nations (typically China) can do useful things with it.
