Although Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious had long plotted the downfall of the Galactic Republic, the massive military industrial complex that depended on forever war was also equally responsible.

Generation Tech: Talks about the perils of the MID, delves into an analysis of real world issues by viewing them through a Clone Wars-Imperial Lens

Me: This is where the fun begins!

"Nazis, Samurai, Zombies..."
Oh, are we calling the Italians Zombies now? It kinda makes sense since Mussolini was trying to revive the Roman Empire from the dead

Some Republics get destroyed by evil geniuses like Sheev Palpatine, and _some Republics_ get destroyed by incompetent comic reliefs like Jar Jar Binks…

I mean, George Lucas was super vocal about his distaste for the Bush-era military industrial complex. Super visable in the Clone Wars series if you look for it

It was ineptitude, apathy, and two exploitive Sith Lords that killed the Republic.
The Galactic Republic was doomed to fail anyway; Palpatine and Plagueis just sped up the process.

Off topic but I admire how the battle scenes in the Solo movie realistically captured the dirty, gritty, unpredictable, and dangerous feel of war. One of the main complaints I have with the other Star Wars movies is that the battle scenes always feel to clean, choreographed, predictable, and unrealistic, with a thick dose of plot armor for the heroes. Solo is the only Star Wars movie where the battle scenes actually feel realistic. Where you can feel just how raw and terrifying it would be to actually be on a battlefield with people blowing up all around you and knowing just how small you are in comparison. Knowing that the next explosion might occur right where you're standing.

As a Gen X grunt-vet, albeit with a quibble or two on the interpretation of a few facts, (fwiw) I sadly have to agree. Well done, well reasoned, and good job.

I really don't understand how you don't have the most subscribers in this community. Loved all your videos for years.

Why would a government be willing to accept a secret army? Because it's either that, or lose the war in a week against quintillions of Battle Droids. At least with the Clone Army, you have a chance, whereas without the clones, you're screwed.

Great vid! I give you the upmost respect for actually researching the real-world background of whatever topic that you’re discussing, or perhaps you’re just that educated. Either way I really enjoy these kinds of videos where you parallel real life.

How large was the Republic's navy and army during the Clone Wars in the Expanded Universe not Disney's canon?
