My favorite scene is still the one with EMH Mk2, about having made an "addition" to his program. Cracks me up every time!

My husband is a music teacher and plays saxophone in several local bands. I listen to a lot of opera and have some music training but mostly for enjoyment.

While binge watching Voyager we realized almost everything The Doctor sings is a Verdi piece. My husband and I believe that most of the pieces only have a 2 octave range. I don’t know how much vocal training Robert Picardo got so keeping a 2 octave range made things simple.

His best line was from one of the early episodes, when Janeway tells him she's trying to tell if they injured a space critter, and he responds with "let's see, you jammed it, shot at it with your phasers, fired a torpedo at it... I think it's fair to say..." and gets cut off.

That’s surprising. I remember in The Phage that Neelix asked if the Doctor was programmed to sing. I had it in my head that the Doctor had inadvertently taken that on and got into singing because of Neelix’s inquiry.

I find it funny that this wasn’t part of the thought process, as it almost seems like an easter egg for a planned journey. It’s a shame it wasn’t intentional.

It sounds like we almost got a hologram version of Barclay instead of the Doctor. Barclay is a great character, however Picardo really pulls off being the Doctor and EMH with great acting and the best choice.

Great info on the doctor. BTW, EMH is not an acronym (where you say the word the initials more or less spell), it is an initialism (where you say the letters therein) but the both abbreviations.

Fun fact, when someone refers to a fictional character as "The Doctor", I always think of the Voyager doctor. I refer to "The Doctor" from Doctor Who as "Doctor Who".
