Hopefully Intel doesn't give up, we need a major shake up on the current GPU duopoly in the industry

Intel hit itself in confusion, it was very effective.

Intel seriously needs to invest more into the software side of their dGPU development. Once they have mature drivers, the cards will shine. We've seen this in the development of countless ARM SBCs and their different graphics solutions. I would be enormously disappointed if short-sighted management resulted in the scrapping of what could potentially redefine the current dGPU market.

Raja Koduri sinking another gpu department, with high promises and poor delivery....how surprising.

If they do pull the plug, my theory is that the management at Intel only wanted to ride the wave of obscene GPU prices, and now that the prices are dropping, they lost all motivation. If this is the case, then the whole thing was doomed from the start fueled by short term thinking, as those GPU prices weren't tenable.

AMD must be glad that Raja Koduri left. When he was at the helm, their Radeon department was merely an afterthought.

they don't want to eat the losses, probably. it's hard to imagine that they'd be making much money, if any, at competitive prices based on relative performance to competitors

Intel should have a new found respect for AMD being able to run both CPU and GPU competitively.

This would be very sad, even though things haven’t gone as planned things can still be worked out given enough time and patience.

This totally sounds like an Intel move. I have seen great products axed because Intel never takes the long view

This is their second attempt. I always thought that Intel would play the long game (5-8 years) to get proper traction in the graphics market. In other words invest huge amount of money before getting out of the red numbers for Intel's the graphics division.

If they pull the plug now then they look naive and foolish. Like a car company trying Formula 1 for two years...

Your videos is good enough to not need a clickbait titel. You say in the video multiple times that you dont want to be misquoted but this titel is saying the opposite.

if you have contact with that higer up Coreteks
Tell him to consider leaving his position instead...

If there was one reason not to get an Intel card, it would be fear of them dropping driver support. Even a rumor about pulling the plug may hurt them.

I don't think they would considering how much time and money spent on everything, plus there cards actually have great performance . It comes down to optimization for drivers and that just takes time but we need a third player in the market tbh to help put Nvidia and AMD in check. I think the cards look decent right now and will look better in a few years with better drivers. They have to remember to took AMD years to catch up to Nvidia in DX11 performance and it's shown all the time when AMD releases new drivers we see huge performance gains so they just need time

I hope they keep trying. They've got alot of the work done. Just keep working even if they don't compete at the high end it's still a great to have a 3rd option.

Making GPUs is hard, and making decent gaming drivers is even harder. It might actually be a good idea to scrap Battlemage and try to get Celestial to market sooner, if Intel thinks it can fix some fundamental flaws and use the time to produce stable software. Interesting video as always, RTG just talked about the same rumor!

Whatever the end of it, we should appreciate AMD presence on GPU market despite all odds.

It'd be market suicide to can such a project at this stage... But then again that seems to be the aim with Intel as of late.

I absolutely hate quotes like this: "I am not saying Intel cancels the dGPU division, just reevaluates it so dont misquote me". Meanwhile the f-ing title: "Intel SHUTTING DOWN the dGPU division?". This is so pathetic
