In today's video I review the Fujifilm 16mm f11.4. I've used the lens for the past 12 months for both video and photography. If you'd like to support the channel consider picking up my cinematic Lightroom preset pack

Firstly, I do not comment on YT videos... I came across Eren's channel few days ago. My mind is blown. His work is incredible, absolutely love his storytelling, passion, dedication and the mood of it all. Don't even need his presets, but bought it just to support him and his great work. I only shoot mobile, but learned so much, thank you!

Whether its the lens, the subject or post production skills, or all of the above, the look you have is outstanding

I've had this lens for many years and it still impresses me.

One thing mentioned but not expanded on in the video is that that manual focus clutch, once pulled back reveals a comprehensive DOF scale which makes easy hyperfocal settings for deep focus landscapes and cityscapes. This was the way to work for decades before autofocus and once mastered will give consistent and repeatable results with no guesswork.

Eren - you understated this lens dude - it's absolutely phenomenal. Many of the best images on my website and portfolio were taken with this lens - over many years. It is absolutely brilliant the way you can get right into somebody's face, get it in focus and still blur the background. I wish I had never sold it. However, I had to get out of Fuji XF for all my paid work and paying customers. I found for weddings and gigs and my events work, (particularly low light), the RAF files just couldn't 'cut the mustard'. I'm with a FF system and the 24mm 1.8s lens I use, is magical, but it's shaped like a toilet-roll with about the same ergonomics. Man, I miss that gorgeous lens.

So agree. The added close-up performance is stupendous. Great video!

The most aesthetic review video I've ever seen. Thank you for all the valuable experience you shared.

Outstanding footage, it is hard to believe the video comes from an XT-5. There is needed so much work and talent to create this beauty..

Nice footage....as always Eren. Also, I really like your down to earth style when it comes to reviews.

Since shooting with Fuji, I really love how the system has turned me from being a photographer to a hybrid shooter. It's pretty much become a natural routine to exchange the "movie and stills" switch back and forth on almost every shoot. It's so much fun.

If I could only have one. It’s this one. Many memories with the 16mm.

Fantastic review and great work!
I own the 16mm f2.8 version but not using it very often but this video inspires me to use it more when travel!

brief fleeting and beautiful moment @6:47

The eternal question remains though 16mm or 18mm... or should I say 24mm or 28mm???

What was the music at the end?

I had that lens but the auto focus was something which I didn’t particular like, saying that it was one of my favourite lens's until I purchased 18mm f/1.4

Nice one. Yes this lens is a gem, one of the first I bought for the Fuji system. I use my Sigma 18-35 mostly these days but the 16/1.4 stays (sometimes 2mm matters!). I find myself liking 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio shots a lot with this lens. I would love for Fuji to add more crop modes, some lenses just sing better than at the standard 3:2.

I have the 16-35mm 2.8 and it's my favorite lens. The 16 is a joy to use, but some things, I need to punch in also so.. yeah.
