I witnessed someone have their phone stolen. Because I stuck around as witness, I subsequently was ordered to appear in court, and had to take 3 different unpaid days off work to show up for trial dates that got postponed/continued.
Definitely learned a lesson there - Do not witness anything.

This should NEVER be allowed. All this law does is deter anyone from admitting they saw anything. Hell, it's hard enough now to get witnesses to come forward with information when they saw something. This will ENSURE no one will speak-up.
