Hey guy’s I go to the islands a lot and I’ve been wearing G-shocks for last 20 years. You can tell the difference most of the time by color quality and rubber quality. You will also know when you go in swimming pool or the ocean and the water resistance is definitely not the same! Most of the Fake ones I see are in islands at these side jewelry shops, they look good but colors are off and they may have weird color combinations! I always go to a REAL watch store to buy my G-shocks! Even Walmart won’t sell you a fake g-shock but theirs are just cheaper models but NOT fake! Lol!! I personally won’t buy a g-shock unless I can feel it or look closely at clarity of colors in my hands. The Fake ones usually have a Crayola crayon type look as far as coloring! Hope this helps some of you guys who are new to g-shocks🙂

Always stick to reputable sellers, I know that may limit your selection sometimes but atleast you know your getting the real deal.

This is frightening! You innocently are buying a product and paying the price, and then in the end you receive a fake one! Not very pleasing to be ripped off!

About 30 years ago I was ripped off with an expensive watch purchase. I learned the hard way mine was fake when it failed about a year after I bought it. I was not as knowledgeable about watches as I am today.

I was figuring that since the most of the Casio watches are not so expensive, it would not pay for someone to produce fake ones! This surprised me!

You did a very good job comparing the real Casio with the ‘knock off’. Excellent video. Very interesting. In looking at the two watches, side by side, the only obvious difference is the hour/minute hands of the knock off version look much different than the real Casio. Everything else looks pretty similar which is scary! Good job! Thanks..

Just received a GA700-1B that I ordered from a reputable dealer but the packaging was "questionable". I have ordered many G-Shocks from them before but felt a little uneasy about the inconsistent packaging. Thanks to YOUR video, I was able to confirm that I in fact was sold and sent the genuine article, silencing my concerns that were due to the packaging. Thank you very much for making and posting this video. It was a great help today!

I just got one of these, red GA-700 from an authorised dealer in İstanbul after ALMOST ordering a Chinese one! It came in the correct box, with manual, warranty and a local distributor warranty too. They do make good fakes and honestly those watches with no outer box or warranty cards may well be fake, but the supplier is giving a warranty on them. There's no reason not to give all the documents and packaging as they come from Casio. The reason they don't give you the box or warranty card is because 99.9%, they're good fakes.

Hmmm... I seem the remember being very weary of that piece when it arrived. I did a bit of research before i bought my Gshock and as a result i bought mine from a brick and motar local store as I couldn't trust any listings online haha. Cudos for making a video about this Ivan 👍

Nice heads up, thanks for sharing. Just an additional info regarding the outside features. To confirm authenticity at first glance, I always compare the details engraved in the backplate and the underside of the strap buckle. When the backplate states that the watch is cased in Thailand, the underside of the buckle should also state Thailand. If the backplate states that it is cased in China, the underside of the buckle should also state China. If the backplate and buckle state different countries, then that's a major red flag for me.

The Casio resin also smells different. The fake ones smell like rubber and release agent and never goes away.

The kerning for the Casio logo on the dial is also off on the fake one.

Oh dear. Someone tried to sell me fake Casio Gshock 6 months ago. I didn't have anything for comparison, but looking at the pictures on the Internet, I spotted a little difference in the sub dials. The real one has little holes in the sub dials, and the one I had in my hands did not. That was my first pointer. Just like this fake, the plastic case didn't feel "good" . The colour was off too. I didn't buy the watch, and the seller was just very angry. That attitude confirmed what I already new, the man was a fraud. Lessons learned today. It is really hard to buy on the used market. The only thing is, ask for the original papers from the shop. That could help a little.

Really useful comparison 👍 thing is... have 30 G-Shock models now and never came across a fake one when buying, think if you buy from authorised dealers only you should be alright.
