Love it! My friends and I do budget challenges all the time and when we did our Numbers Game decks, I picked a 5cmc spellslinger deck built around Melek, Reforged Researcher! Once I start slinging out 5 cmc spells at 2 mana the value just becomes too much 🎉

I have an Imoti deck with a similar design and slightly looser restriction, that being every card has to be 6+. With the exception of "beacon of creation", which is a 4 mana sorcery that makes an insect for each forest i control and then shuffles back in. The entire deck is designed to slam big cards are repeatedly cascade into beacon.

K this kinda rules and actually seems like a viable gimmick deck. I love the creativity that the companion restrictions breed and then you put more of a restriction on yourself!

It never occurred to me before to think of Branch of Vitu-Ghazi as ramp. It's so mana-intensive compared to something like green ramp or Signets that it was just lumped in my head as "that awful limited card."

I have a very similar deck with Ikra and Brinelin with Keruga companion, same colors but dont have the same 6 mana restrictions so have some 3 mana ramp a long with other cards like breach the multiverse and jingitaxis

I'm a bit confused here, what's the point of the combo? As far as I'm aware you don't have tutors, so doesn't that just make the deck dramatically less consistent and likely to be targeted more heavily? (since people are likely to remember the combo even if it has a low chance of appearing)
