Thank you so much. I purchased the parts using your affiliate link and it all works perfectly . One thing I added is clamp a cheese cloth on the second hole in the lid and now chips won’t spit out! :)

Several years back I was getting ready to rip out my existing kitchen and build new Cherry Shaker style cabinets, but before starting I went up to Grizzly tools in Bellingham Washington to purchase a bunch of better tools to attack this project. I had approximately 25 years of experience with cabinet building, five of which were at a custom shop and the rest as a hobby. Four thousand dollars later I had a new table saw, drill press, router, drill/driver set, jig saw, Kreg tools, dust collector etc, one thing I really wanted was this planer but after spending $4k already I was going to do without, that is until I was logged onto the home depot website and then the dewalt website.

Home Depot was having a $200 off sale on any Dewalt tool over $500, and then while reading up on the planer on Dewalts site they had a sale that if you purchased certain Dewalt tools you got $200 off, so I logged on their site and entered my purchase with the serial number etc and they sent me the discount, after tax it was around $350 couldn’t pass it up.

I just used it a couple weeks ago for a dining room table I’m building that will be supporting a 54x54” quartzite top weighing in at 500lbs. The only thing I noticed was that my sniping was getting worse, I don’t know if it is because the blades are getting dull or what, I tried feeding the piece consecutively and building a snipping table but neither help so I had to run them to a cabinet shop to see if they could run them through a sander.

I’m glad I watched this video because you did not suggest purchasing the feed tables, I guess I’ll buy some new blades and see where that gets me, or maybe a call to Dewalt ? Other then that it is a great tool, but LOUD I hook my dust collector or shop vac to it so I can close my garage doors while running it

I just finished setting up my new planer with your dust collection method (including a dust bag) and it works great. I did use your affiliate link to purchase from Amazon. I will probably include a few clips of my setup in upcoming videos if your interested. Thanks!

Good video for the planner. The tables do help though when you're running material through it keeps it flat. But yeah it doesn't help with snipe.

Great video. Simple and articulate. I purchased the same elbow and hose, but am finding it difficult to get the hose over the elbow. They seem to be the same size. Something I’m missing? Thanks, Mitch

Recently bought this planer just the planer not the infeed/outfeed tables but did Santa for them so hopefully he brings as I am getting a fair amount of snipe 😢. Other than snipe (reduced a lot by riding boards on another) and sight gauge like you stated this thing is fantastic.

Count yourself lucky…I got mine a week and a half ago and it’s been snipe city….bought the tables, adjusted em countless times and recommended ways…the unit came with the metal Ruler bent to hell. I’m guessing the box took a tumble. Not looking forward to disassembly and repacking to return. Don’t know if I will even go with it again. But the snipe your getting is nothing in comparison mine is almost a 1/16th on the right side exit.

Does that 4” flexible elbow slip right on like in the video. I have yet to find one that fits.

Hello, Aaron, the flex elbow is not available right now. Do you have any idea if there is other brand that fits the lid?

Curious if the bag is really necessary. Thanks. Good review.

Does yours raise and lower easily, it takes both hands to turn the wheel on mine. It is new just set up over the weekend. Enjoyed the video.

Think it could handle 9" wide by 70" long Douglas fir beams? Or would i be asking for trouble?

Hey I just copied this setup and the lid is letting air (and chips) out the sides, same trash can, same everything as shown. I have bungies going down the middle to the handles and it forms a nice seal where the bungies are but the other sides let the air and chips out. Have you come across this and what did you do to fix it.

How have you been liking the Wen stand?

Just loosen the screws on the side and adjust the plate a little and tighten. Problem solved
