Fort Lauderdale is a city on South Florida's east coast, less than an hour's drive from Miami.
The boutique shops and restaurants on Las Olas Boulevard serve the many wealthy tourists who flock to Fort Lauderdale during the summer. Fort Lauderdale is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Birch State Park and the Bonnet Gardens are both enchanting natural showcases. Butterfly World in Coconut Creek has over fifty winged species on display at any time. Birds roam freely at Lake Okeechobee.
Immediately north of Fort Lauderdale's beaches are the picturesque Lighthouse Point and Deerfield Beach Fishing Pier. Mizner Park boasts Spanish-style stucco restaurants, ornamental fountains, and galleries.
