This guide is bad. I'll give it a shot:
Kicktail: if it has a kick, you can do tricks like a skateboard. that's right.
Pintail: these are for riding around in basic form, not many tricks, slides, high speeds. Just enjoying the ride.
Drop Through (and drop down): good for some high speed, or for slides and freeriding. THEY DO NOT TURN SHARPLY. huge mistake by this video, they are harder to turn because they are made for sliding and speed, both of which require more stability.

I have been searching the internet for something that can tell me what kinds of longboards there so I know what I should get and this is the best I could find and it's not even a minute long! I mean how is a beginner like me supposed to know what types of experiences you get on the different types of boards with a one sentence description? Come on, whats wrong with making a 5 min video that goes into an in-depth analysis of comparing different boards so people like me know what we should buy?

A pintail is generally a cruising board, but if you are going to be pushing, a drop through board is more comfortable over long periods of time

I'm just starting out and I got a kick tail... Never really went skateboarding but it feels good to ride with my back foot over the bolts and the outside of my foot on the base of the kick

Wha'ever people tell, don't get a drop thru as beginner...
They may slide easier at the beginning but the better you get, the worse gets the control over the board.
Scince you asked this past a year now, what have you bought?

I got a madrid Weezer (Topmount Freestyle) complete 180€ and put some shakejunt OG's and shockpads on it and it has probably the best ride feeling as its smooth with the cadillac wheels 80a 70mm's. I'm close to get into a slide (at least at ground like at a train station)!
