Solar Panels SCAM! My Story / BEWARE!!!

In this video I talk about my experience during and after installing solar panels on my home. I am sure this isn't everyone's experience, I can only speak for myself. I did not mention the name of the solar panel company because I don't know the legalities of it.

The fine print of the contact part you mentioned of the other lady's contact..."If you sue us, you have to PAY US 10, 000." That right there is saying we are crooks all the way to court!

I am so glad you posted this. I've had several estimates and this last guy sat there and said we use relatively little power and showed me an image of my roof with the panels to cover 103% of my usage. I'm not an idiot, it was less than half the panels other contractors suggested. 3500sq ft, a pool, a barn, 5hp irrigation pump, a well, and a mother that loves to do laundry every day....I asked for 3 referrals and haven't heard from him yet. I'm sorry you got scammed. I hope you find a way out of it.

I can tell it wasn't easy making this video but please know that you have prevented countless others from going down the same road. My neighborhood is currently being canvassed as we've had 4 salespeople knock on our road in the past month. Wow, what a nightmare!! I'm so sorry you all went through this. I would have never known that this could happen. Thank you for letting us know. Solar panels have always sounded so enticing; we just can't afford it, to begin with. You give us such good advice. Thank you for your honesty and care. You should file a complaint with your state’s attorney general consumer fraud department. You’d be amazed at how companies respond to that.

My dear you have saved 1000's of people from the agony and possible financial ruin. I had herd stories but none like yours. You are an expert of all the pitfalls by now. Words can not say how thankful we all are. I too have looked into Solar but the savings of maybe $40 and still having a loan payment was a joke. I also said that I wanted battery storage for the power I produced to use in the night time. I said I wanted to manage the production/storage of "my power produced by "my panels". They said it would be 10k extra and that really nobody wanted to "store/manage" their own power production. No...they just wanted to sell me panels and go on to the next sale. The funny thing is that they would ask how much I wanted to save and then change the #'s on the paper to reflect my desired savings. I knew then that it was a scam. The one thing that you pointed out that I had not researched is when you need to replace your roof and what it would cost to re-install the panels. Wow..another rip off. Im just sickened that this fraud happened to you and anyone else it happened to as well.

I read the fine print when a salesman came to my door and decided against panels. When my mom was looking into it I told her to save up and buy panels herself and have our friend install them for a lunch and iced tea. I'm so glad she listened to me so she didn't end up in the same position. Thank you for helping spread the word about these scams.

I am a Realtor and your story is heartbreaking but we are hearing the same from many people with panels, especially when trying to sell their homes. It's a nightmare and the government needs to protect consumers by regulating this industry.

They came to my house today to schedule an appointment with me, but I told them for me to listen to them they will have to pay me $200. just for me to listen, so they left. I've been considering going solar for over 7 years, and every time I get close (I even had a 60 ft. tree removed that was blocking the sun on my home), a "salesman" starts with most optimistic greatest story he/she can tell. If you listen closely, they all sound the same. One month ago, someone came to my door, as they do, and started his "speech". I asked two questions which he stumbled on, said he'd be back, and I never saw him again.
"Buyer beware", oh yeah.
It's videos like yours' and people like you that help thousands of people who are victimized by salespeople in every industry, including this industry.

I ALMOST got into one of these scams, I had signed it and changed my mind at the last minute and opted out, thanks to testimonials like this. Thanks for taking the time to make this video to save other people the misery of dealing with these SCAMs. The only way I'd ever do solar is if I bought and installed the system myself so I wouldn't have to deal with all this BS....
