POV: Draco always had been in love with y/n. She was a humorous, beautiful girl, and she had always gotten along with Draco ever since first year. However, she was quite oblivious to his feelings, and began dating Harry in third year. She was also good friends with the trio, and Draco, having a history with them, distanced himself from y/n, yet he still loved her. Y/n noticed, and was constantly trying to get back their old relationship. However, she thought that Draco just didn’t want anything to do with her, though it was quite the opposite. Meanwhile, she began developing feelings for Draco as well in fourth year, and while still being with Harry, thought that the best thing to do was break up with him. She did, and Harry certainly didn’t take it well. He would tease y/n in the halls, embarrass her In front of everyone, and even tried to hex her. All the while, she wanted to be at least, friends with Draco again, though she had grown to fall in love with him. She didn’t know that even after all these years, Draco’s love for her hadn’t diminished. They were in Potions one day, and after a particularly rough encounter with Harry, she was complaining to Hermione about the situation. She was oblivious to Draco listening In on her conversation, and because he still loved her, couldn’t stop himself from getting revenge on Harry. Harry had affected y/n with his insufferable bullying and insults, and Draco wouldn’t take it. After Harry went to the Great Hall with a bloody nose, y/n was surprised, and when she looked at Draco, she already noticed his eyes on her. He gave her a slight smile, and she returned it, her heart filled with joy. She hadn’t seen him smile at her, or anyone in a long time, and it felt good to see the Draco she once knew and now loves in him. Later, while y/n was reading a book, her owl dropped a note on her lap.

draco and y/n are now in a relationship, but harry still was really jealous. y/n had forbidden draco to do anything about it, or they would break up. draco tried not to get too mad but it was hard for him. until draco beat harry again, and y/n got really mad at both boys

Pov:

You feel a crushing weight in your heart. Taking in gasps of air to calm yourself down. You try to pull yourself together and try to stay strong. On the brink of tears you grasp on to your forearm and wince as you brushed against the bruises speckleing your arm. Hermione looks at you concerned as she mixes in ingredients for the assigned potions. “Are you okay?” She asks a concerned look crossing her face.

You look behind you to find Draco focused on his potion and slowly start to whisper to Hermione “I… after me and Harry broke up he has been trying to make my life a living h3#*” you manage to sputter out in heaping gasps.

A tear stains your cheek as it falls, burning your eyes. You wipe the back of your hand across the cheek to smear the tear away and continue on your potions. Hermione, a friend of Harry’s you didn’t expect much gratitude but she gives you a surprisingly comforting smile.

At lunch you hear gossiping and such and look to the head of your table to find Hermione gesturing to Harry’s empty seat. Confused and dazed from not eating much before this you look around. Harry stumbles in, a blood stained tissue held tightly against his nose. The realization hits you and a deep part of you grimaces.

POV: Y/n met Harry first year and he was the best kid ever, and by third year they were together. Over time Harry became so fearful of losing y/n that he became too overprotective and he started treating them badly. Y/n got sick of it and broke up with Harry, and he was infuriated. He wanted y/n to feel how he felt, so he continued to pester them. Draco has always loved y/n’s Draco was the one who’d originally noticed Harry being rude to y/n and told y/n to break up with Harry, but they ignored him because they just thought Draco was trying to get to Harry using them. Draco and Harry’s fights were mostly over y/n, but they never knew. When Draco heard about Harry still being a d1ck to y/n he went and got into a duel with him, saying if he won Harry would leave y/n alone.

You've known Draco for as long as you can remember because you both grew up together. You and him have always been super close.

However, when you arrive at Hogwarts, you are put into different houses and start to drift apart, especially when you become friends with the golden trio. You two would talk from time to time but never for very long.

Draco is super upset when he finds out you're dating Harry because he's secretly been in love with you for years and has been waiting for the right moment to tell you. He already didn't like Harry, but after that, he starts to hate him. Unbeknownst to them, most of their fights are because Draco's terribly jealous.

When he overhears that you broke up with Harry, he gets excited for a moment until he hears how Harry's been treating you. He's absolutely furious. Draco has always had a soft spot for you and is very protective of you. So of course, the second he gets the chance to be alone with Harry, he confronts him.

That chance just so happens to be that night at dinner when he sees Harry leave to go to the bathroom. They end up in a fist fight, and after Draco wins by a long shot, he threatens Harry to leave you alone. It works and Draco returns to his seat incredibly satisfied.

You knew something had happened, but hadn't noticed the subtle hints pointing toward Draco. And so, you don't find out what had actually happened until Hermione tells you a few days later. "I thought you should know since the fight was over you" she says.

After that, you rush to find Draco. You find him outside talking and laughing with his friends. He pauses when he sees you and looks confused as you run up to him. His friends clear away when you throw your arms around him in a hug, and after a moment's hesitation, he hugs you back.

You tell him how much it means to you that after all this time, he's still protecting you. He tells you that he will always care enough about you to protect you and you both have the most real conversation you'd had in years.

He ends up telling you what he'd been dying to tell you all along, only to find out you've always felt the same way. You had been ignoring it for years, thinking he'd never consider you more than a friend.

After that, Harry completely ignores you, (thankfully), and you and Draco are free to rekindle the undeniable spark you two share.

*POV:* When you and Hermione started talking, Draco turned around to ask you if his potion was doing well when he listens you mentioning Harry, AKA your ex.

After your talk with Hermione Draco acts like nothing was going on but he was really REALLY mad. (he really cares about you, you're his world and he couldn't imagine one day without you)

After potions you notice him leaving the class very fast and you two always walked together to the next lesson or wherever you wanted to go but you just thought he needed the bathroom or smth so you just left with Hermione.

When entering the Great Hall you separate from Hermione since you know she's part of the Golden Trio where Harry is and you go sit with Pansy instead. You were focused talking with Pansy abt random stuff when she asks how your relationship with Draco was going, and with that question you look around and notice he's not there.

You ignored it and continue talking with Pansy when Harry comes in looking at you with his nose bleeding everywhere and the only thing that came to your mind was Draco..he did it..💚
