Who would buy an 8 year old camera? *Looks over at my 12 year old Sony A57 and my 13 year old Nikon 1J1*. Only 8 years? Sounds so new, maybe I'll do that as a major upgrade! lol

Me to, still using 80D, mainly for video. I even still use 550d with sigma 30mm/1.4. Sigma 30mm/1.4 is such a underestimated lens, work for me nicely.

An 8 year old DSLR is pretty much still a young DSLR with an autofocus speed that rivals the newer system camera's. My D750 will be 10 years old this year and I still consider it a recent DSLR. It was cheaper than my X-T3, but it's full frame, has faster autofocus, better low light performance and you can find a lot of great AF-D lenses for cheap (because these cannot autofocus on the Nikon Z camera's). On the other hand I like the lighter weight of the X-T3 and the Fujifilm XF lenses are pretty sharp. If you want a Fujifilm on a budget, you would still be happy with a X-T1 or X-T2.

Listen everyone, doesn’t matter what camera you buy, the camera will grow on you and you will learn from it and creative from it. Photography is subjective

Just bought an SLR from Ukraine from 1980…. Also use a rangefinder from USSR from 1960. Both work perfectly

I wanted to buy modern, something from R series. But I don't wanted to wait and bought 1200D, so cheap and it's ok for photos, it's even can record video (25fps, but software with frame interpolation can do 60 fps very well).

I started with a Canon 500D then wasted money moving to the 60D and ultimately went in to the 5D series. 5D2 for 10 years and now 5DsR & 5D4 bodies.

It would cost me £10k for bodies alone to replace my DSLR's with Canon R5's let alone the elevatable move to some RF glass. Not happening.

8 years is not that long in camera terms. Sure newer cameras have all the bells and whistles and do things quicker but people need to be able to do the essentials before realizing their camera holds them back.
