In his presentation, Oliver Vornberger shows how he produced a MOOC covering the content of an entire introductory lecture to algorithms and data structures. Besides showing the individual steps, he also points at several challenges in the production and the sustainable use of Massive Open Online Courses as popular means of distance education in the digital classroom.

Oliver Vornberger is Professor for Computer Science at the University of Osnabrück where he serves as acting head of the Institute of Computer Science and as a founder and board member of virtUOS, the Center for Information Management and Virtual Teaching.

This reflects in his broad spectrum of teaching activities which also earned him several awards including the German national Ars legendi Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching.

Loads of crying about the time of work he put in it. I guess he could make 45 minutes of lessons quite faster. He could have used the time in this talk a lot better too. Like talking about the pro's en cont's of MOOC more than what HE did and the time HE had to put in.
