Hey Seth, awesome to meet you at the Expo in Boston this year. We stopped and chatted and took a snap talked about you coming to Australia one day!
Anyway QD:Shoe Dog by Phil Knight all about the roller coaster ride of getting Nike up and running is a great book I’m reading at the moment. Some great stories about running, small business start ups and just the reality of getting any company up and running.
Love your work

I’m reading The Lost Art of Running by Shane Benzie. It’s about running form, getting away from thinking about it as biomechanics and thinking instead about elasticity. It has really transformed the way I run. I’m also reading 26 Marathons by Meb Keflezighi. From each of his races he draws lessons of wisdom for running and for life in general.

Today I broke 500 miles in my HOKA Mach 5’s. My all time favorite shoes.

Really enjoying the VF3. Did a 10 mile race recently and they were amazing. I was a VF4%FK fan and battled with the VFNext%1 and 2 didn't suit my forefoot plant. The VF3 are just sublime.

Dick Beardsley "Staying the Course: A Runner's Toughest Race". I grew up traveling to my Grandparents' house in Minnesota and Dick was a legendary runner in Minnesota. I love the Boston Marathon and he had an awesome race with Alberta Salazar in the duel in the sun.

Your talk about choosing to get out of shape was awesome and resonated with me. I’m a highschool senior and my senior track season has been destroyed by a hip injury. I’ve been able to get back to running in the last 3 weeks and qualify for state, but I’m running nowhere near as fast as I would have if I trained all season. The biggest thing that has kept me going is the though that injury’s happen, so we just have to keep going and persevere. My fitness will eventually return so I can kill it in college. Thank you for the consistently uplifting content.

Bill Walsh. The score take care of itself. Great reading (or audio) decision making, and management and organizational skills contrasted with extreme sport performance.

Qd: I just started reading “Running While Black.” I started reading it because I met the author at a race expo. I am only a few pages in, but I can already tell it is gonna be an amazing, eye opening book! I also bought Des’s book, so I am excited to read that as well 😀

Reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, and thoroughly enjoying some fiction after reading mainly running related books during my preparation for the Seville Marathon and my debut in the 100k distance last sunday. Although I had my first DNF, I found myself thinking about your Vlog on the Formidable 50k at 5 a.m. after running for about 7 hours and am definitely considering niching down to distances up to the Marathon. Cheers and keep going!

I'm re-reading Born to Run 2, this time focusing on the 90 day running plan😊.

I like my Nike Next% 2 for racing. The ASICS Meta Speed Sky + are also great for me with a longer stride. I do need to get more consistent in my running, especially the speed workouts.

I’m currently listening or just finished actually “The lost Art of Running” by Shane Benzie. I thought this might be a bit dry, but really enjoyed it. Shane is a running form coach and researcher. I found his tips, form cues, and what constitutes efficient running form fascinating!

Seth James DeMoor, a runner of great fame
With a stride so graceful, it's hard to tame
Miles upon miles, he'll run with ease
His passion for running, it's plain to see

Through mountains and trails, he'll glide with grace
No challenge too great for him to face
The wind in his hair, the earth beneath his feet
He runs with a spirit that's hard to beat

He shares his journey with the world at large
Encouraging others to run and take charge
With his YouTube channel, he inspires us all
To lace up our shoes and answer the call

Seth James DeMoor, a runner and friend
Whose love for running never seems to end
May his miles be many, his path be bright
And his spirit keep running, day and night.

Good run. Surprised you find the Vaporfly 3 "firm" though. Compared to what? They feel a little softer than say the Vaporfly 2 to me. That feeling ties with the 3 having 2mm more ZoomX stack and 2mm less outsole rubber than the 2.

Josephus's The Jewish Wars. It's about the many Jewish uprisings, against Rome and others, during the centuries around 0 BC. I've always wanted to know more about what life was like then and this is an eye opener.

I just finished Kara Goucher's The Longest Race. I always admired her running but after reading about her years being coached by Alberto Salazar, I am in awe of her courage.

I'm also listening to Dan Carlin's Hard Core History podcast series on the Middle Ages, formerly known as the Dark Ages. If you haven't listened to any of his podcasts, a treat awaits you. I've listened to the Genghis Khan series, about 12 hrs long, several times. Had I listened to any of his series in high school, I might have been somewhat more respectful to my history teachers.

Oh, Des's book is next on my list! Or maybe Running with the Buffaloes. I'm reading Kara Goucher's book now. One of my fav books of the year. It's so good. Plus, she was coached by Wetmore as well.
