George Lucas Finally REVEALS His Thoughts On This...

In today's Star Wars news update, Tony Gilroy reveals George Lucas' reaction to Rogue One while discussing Disney+ and Lucasfilm show Andor. Rogue one still the best of Disney star wars. I liked the fact it was ordenary people who are able/willing to rise to the occasion rather than relying on the jedi to save the day

I love how honest Gilroy is, for instance when talking about Bourne he straight up says “I gave them the MCU and they didn’t want it, so there’s some bad blood there.” He knows he talented enough to say what he means and feels and I respect that. I’d love to see what he could do with a Jedi or more interestingly a Sith show.

Oh and I can’t wait for Ahsoka to drop! Gonna be sweet I hope!

If George Lucas himself tells you that you did a wonderful job with your Star Wars project, ESPECIALLY after how much disdain he had with the sequel trilogy, you know you're doing something right. I'm so freaking elated that my biggest inspiration loved one of the best SW films of all freaking time, Rogue One is exactly the type of political and social material that George loves to cover in Star Wars, and its awesome that Gareth and Tony lived up to his expectations and honored George. Plus with Andor, there are so much homages to George's early work that its insane. Freaking love George dude, as C3PO says, THANK THE MAKER. 💛

Rogue One is my favorite of all post Lucas Star Wars. The reason I loved it is because it feels like George Lucas Star Wars. It flows into a New Hope perfectly.

To me the length of Sabine's hair in the photo looks more similar to how it was throughout Rebels, not the pixie cut from the finale, so could be a different meeting. Though can also just be the difference in transition from animated to live-action.

I feel like rogue one flowed perfectly into the story it was amazing to get the back story of everything and andor as well. Andor shows how gritty the beginning of the rebellion was.

I just finished rewatching Andor last night, and this time I appreciated it even more. I know some fans didn’t like how slow it was sometimes but in my opinion it gave us so much information and understanding of the Empire and the beginning of rebellion. It felt more real and intense. Can’t wait for season 2!

Excellent stuff as always Meg. When it comes to the fan based, many can get too dramatic about Cannon, and non-Cannon for me, and they don’t like anything changed at all. But as we all know change is always good, stagnation of any kind leads to death. So things must be new and fresh despite the disappointments. I am relishing the fact that many thought the animation version was too childish or beneath them, which is the reason many didn’t bother with it, but that’s their choice. I grew up with the first star wars. I was 10 when we went to the theaters, and back then kids were allowed to go to the theaters without adults; boy has time changed. But I also grew up watching cartoons, so when the animation versions came out I was on it like white on rice, I had to watch them, and I don’t regret it, but secretly wished they did a live action of the animation series. So here we are, more characters to fall in love with and more importantly the kids that are watching these today will grow to love Star Wars. And a whole new generation will be born from it. So, growth and change is probably more for them than the rest of us. 🙏🏼

I have no doubt that during that call, Gilroy mentioned his work on Andor and offered that George get his take on his interpretation of the SW universe. George will return.

Regardless what Spin-Off will come out of Andor, regardless which character will get a show, as long as Tony Gilroy and his amazing team will be in charge, we will get more masterpieces like Andor. Toni Gilroy is not only a real professional, he is also one of the most skilled one. The last and only inside Disney left.

Rogue One is the best stand alone film in the SW timeline, pure gold from beginning to end. My favorite DSW character comes from the movie, the blind force user, can not recall his name off hand. The Force is with me!
