RTX 3080 has 2x performance of 2080 Ti...or was it 2080?!🤔

Pretty sure he said 2080Ti on the livestream, in the original copy, in the VHS copy, in the audio-only copy, in the binary copy, in the back-up copy stored in the underground nvidia vault, and in this video. Pretty sure.

Some ignorant people really set themselves up for disappointment here, by continuously referring to Nvidia's promise as being twice as powerful as the 2080 Ti. I got a 2070 Super which has very similar performance to the stock 2080, and from what we've seen so far the 3080 will have "up to" 2 times the performance of that. Which is great.

It will be around 80% higher performance than 2080 and at best around 35% higher performance than 2080ti on average. Very nice performance gain for the price. Of Course 3070 will be about equal with 2080ti for $500 which is very nice. People have been selling their 2080ti for as low as $500.

The people who are confused are the same ones who are confused by the difference between a 2080 and a 2080ti in the first place.

The whole point of these cards is to make 4k playable with good 60+ fps. If these cards do not do that, then we are still not getting what we should for the price. 4k tv's have been standard for a long time now but lacking the tech behind them.

Still, from what Digitalfoundry showed it looks like its a decent performance jump, bigger than when we went from Pascal to Turing. I'm more interested in seeing what they got planned for the 3060. If its about the same performance of a 2080 Super, like the rumors suggest, with 8gb of vram for $350.00, I'll get one. Let's hope they don't try to be funny or cute like with the og 2060 and stick 6gb of vram. Even back then I thought that charging $350 for a 6gb gpu was insulting.

The confuse is about "Half-Price" If you Know the 2080 has Selled for 800/900€, and now the 3080 comes in 750/900€ soo it cannot be 2x performance of the 2080 for half-price.
soo the correct form is 3080 its 2x better than 2080 ti because it costs 750/900€ and the 2080 ti cost 1200/1400€
Also if you remember in the full video of presentation Jensen Said "3080 have more 40% performance" than 2080 ti
Soo Yes, is very ez too confuse the consumer!
But this is only expeculation, we dont know nothing, till the benchmarks come out.

Jensen is a genius. He played mind games with people hoping they would forget the 2080ti was the flagship so he could tell you how much better the 3080 is compared to 2080 and 2080 super.

Yep and 2080 is below a 1080ti I think. IVadim the confusing it's 2080 vs. 2080ti. It's that people speculated that it's roughly only 30-60% better than the 2080, or in their charts.. 130-160% better not 200% better.

also while he used the 2080 super in the graph is clearly that he said the OG 2080 you can see that the 2080 S is almost at 3X if it was the 2 times of the super it should be at 5.5X and it is at 4.5, they didn't lie look the 2080ti is at 3.5 while the 3080 is 4.5 that is 25-30% increase over the 2080ti, which is exactly what the leak benchmarks are showing. so that said if we remember that the 1080ti and OG 2080 had almost the same performance the OG 2080 should be at around 2.3 witch is half of the 3080´s 4.5
