I think Kong Skull Island should've been FIRST in the "Monsterverse" and have the Godzilla easter egg/cameo at the end to surprise the fans in the theater that Legendary studios secretly bought the rights to Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah for King of the Monsters (2019)

Im not saying I hate Godzilla 2014 since it inspired the Monsterverse along with Kong Skull Island. But the epic fan shock value would totally be up the roof if we didnt expect Godzilla and Kong to be in the same movie universe.

Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms. well lookit that. I think John Goodman's character might have been a colleague of Dr. Serizawa, what with his "Monsters owned this earth before humans" ideal. Its safe to assume he might have been in charge of Monarch when the MUTO attacked the power plant at the beginning of Godzilla.

This clip is very critical to the MonsterVerse. Randa (John Goodman) is mentioning that he was the only survivor of the U.S.S. Lawton to Packard (Samuel L. Jackson). The Lawton was destroyed likely by Godzilla in 1954, the year he debuted on the screen (Though the radioactive lizard himself said he doesn't remember this happening). He also mentions the MUTO, who Godzilla fought in San Francisco in 2014, with this being a prequel. It's also important to remember that Monarch is the same organization that Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) and Graham (Sally Hawkins) work for.
