Hit Down With Your Irons

Hey Quite The Chap here for GolfersRX…that sound when the ball gets compressed…in today’s video

When the pros hit the ball it makes a completely different sound. That is the sound of compression. When the ball is turned into a pancake on the clubface…another reason they can create backspin on the ball. So how do we get anywhere near that compression…by hitting down on the ball.

Take a club and lay it down
Take two balls and lay one at the clubface and the other by the grip
Now hit the ball in front

This path here is going to ensure you produce a downward strike into the ball.

This is going to help you compress the ball and it’s also going to help you produce the juicy backspin you see the pros do on TV. You can do the same thing with a towel by setting it behind the ball as well.
