Omg..That’s devastating, i cried watching this. A 14 year old died all because of the crew who didn’t pay attention and check all the buckles... May he Rest In Peace ❤️

This is why when I go out with people at amusement parks I don’t even make fun of certain people and make them feel weak for not participating in certain rides because I know stuff like this constantly goes through their minds & I’m the same way. That’s why I’m low key picky with roller coasters and all that when I go out.

They owe his family a billion dollars.

See, I used to love thrill rides as a kid but as an adult, innocence ruined by the reality that these things happen, I stick to the carrousel! My condolences to his family. Such a tragic and senseless way to loose a loved one.

Sorry to hear this. A 6-year old girl died on a similar ride last year.. fell 110 feet on "Haunted Mine Shaft" in Colorado Springs - turns out she was never strapped in and operators didn't notice.

There are no checking procedures at all before the ride. That guy there is just chit chatting with some of the participants about the thrill and excitement, but he's not doing his work and he is doing nothing to check for the safety of all the riders. There are evident design flaws with this ride too. There’s no seatbelt between the legs to hold the harness down. Falcon Fury on Busch Gardens is a very similar ride, and I have done that many times. Falcon Fury does have seat belts on every seat, in the middle of the legs, to secure the harness down and it is locked in place and can only be open again when the ride is fully stopped. Workers at Busch Gardens check every single seat before and after the ride. This could have been prevented. The ride needs to be shutdown permanently.

14 years old. Lost his future because of negligence. Somebody needs to get locked up and shut this place down before it happens again

Never trust the machines and these big amusement rides as they're made by humans

I see people blaming the manufacturers of the ride, however the amusement park is at fault here. The manufacturers stated that the ride will not ascend unless every seat is clicked in. The boy was clicked in because he made it all the way to the top of the ride and even almost to the bottom of it, he wouldn't have made it this far down had he not been clicked in. The issue here was that he was too big, weighing 340 lbs. But in no way am I blaming the victim, it is definitely the amusement parks responsibility to ensure every rider is within the appropriate weight and height. He was only 14 years old and still dependent on adults and the amusement park failed him by not adequately training all of their employees.

I smell a lawsuit. Negligence and incompetence is the issue here 💯☹️ I always thought; when I worked at 6 flags, that maybe it isn’t too smart to have inexperienced 16 year old operate the rides. I mean we all make mistakes but the room for error is real low. Prayers out to the family

I went on this ride when it first opened and I’m never nervous riding rides but this was the only one I thought I was going to fall out in. When I first sat in the seat everybody’s safety strapped clicked except mine and when we got all the way to the top we lean forward with all our weight against it and it really felt like I was going to fall right out of it… rip to this boy that had to deal with our biggest fears

This is why I hate that ride. Been on the orlando eye recently with my wife and when we looked at 400ft we realized that ride was actually higher than the eye it self

The 14 year old was way too big for the seat on that ride. There's a picture of him sitting in his seat next to his friends, you can see his harness isn't all the way down so it could not have been secure like all the others. His harness just gave way when the ride paused in it's descent . He should have been turned away from the ride . This was a sad event.

the "rider" was 6'4" 340 pounds, so he was a big guy not a little boy. I suspect the harness did not "lock" around his big belly, you need to hear a satisfying click that signals a good lock, but with alot of noise from all the happy crowd of people it was missed.
Once the ride took the "death plunge" to give the riders tremendous pleasure, the harness came loose and the rider enter what is called "freefall".
It was a tragic accident that could happen to anyone. The park is immune from lawsuit, it states clearly on the ticket that all riders assume full liability if they are injured or killed during a ride.
RIP to all the victims of this tragedy. The ride will be reopen next week for the summer season of tourists.
