How to de-ice your car windscreen with cold water

Copious amounts of cold water! It warms the glass sufficiently to prevent refreezing. Also does not stress the glass as warm water would do.

Boiling water WILL NOT shatter your windscreen. I’m sick of hearing this myth. Your windscreen is made of laminate glass, it CANNOT shatter. It is literally a design function of laminate glass ffs 🤦🏻‍♂️

Dude emptied a full kettle and couldnt even clear the windscreen you can do the whole car with one kettle and it has to be luke warm cold will do absolutely nothing

That’s frost not ice. Try that when it’s -02° following an ice storm. Some people 🤦‍♂️

Bruh could’ve easily just hit the washer sprayers and let the de-icer in the reservoir make quick work of it.

I used to defrost my car windows with warm water for years. Not only I'm able to leave the parking much quicker than my neighbours but the cleaning effort is noticeably less and the windows are perfectly clear. And they are not frozing again in seconds because they are slightly warm. Of course I immediately desut the water I use is something between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, to avoid thermal shock and cracking the windows. And if the temperature is too low (under 6
...7 deg) I don't risk and I use a good de-icing spray. Anyways, the water will freeze on the window at this temperature.
And one more thing. Don't use this method if on your windscreen there is already a crack because it will progress. One of my old cars had a little crack and I managed to prolonge it till the contour by using cold water to clean the windshield after few hours of parking under the hot sun.

Lmfao buddy, we does dat in Canada 🇨🇦 for ice rinks. If dat works on -5c then you drive 200m at 30km you going be blind as a bat very quickly or burn all yas wiper fluids! Isopropyl in a spray bottle works so much better, dat way your missus won't be pissed at you for taking her kettle for da tea!
