App State alum here. We had a down year last year going 9-5. We were ranked in the top 25 2 of the previous 4 seasons. We are in the elite of the non-power schools. And we do it without top recruits. We are a predominately running team, but Joey has been the best quarterback we have had since jumping from FCS in 2014 so last year we passed a lot more.

App State fan here and have to say Kayne Roberts (RB) and Nate Johnson (OLB) and the bright future in the program Santana Hopper (NT) is also a guy to keep your eyes out for, and I’m glad we got you as our coach Shawn Clark has been holding us back big time😂

Appalachian state has never had a 4 star recruit and they've only ever had 2 "high" three stars in the history of the program to give you some realism context.

I have Syracuse ranked #20 at 6-1 but a lot of games have been an uphill battle, so you’re not a bad player by any means. In my only loss I got my teeth kicked in by NC State 🤣 but on the bright side I landed a 4-star recruit at D Tackle, Al Butcher! Such a sick name and such a better game than Madden! The FCS teams are representative of lower division teams, just used as generic placeholders. So think North Dakota state and teams on that level who play in lower divisions.

Fun fact: seems that a lot of them take inspiration from team builder teams content creators made popular on NCAA 14. The FCS Coyotes seem to be based on GoodGameBro’s Cascade Valley Coyotes 😉 great video, look forward to following
