My university had three St Bernard therapy dogs that would come in during finals week—Bea, Bobo, and Boomer. They were such sweethearts, they’d all just flop down on the floor of the library and let a gaggle of students surround them for pets and cuddles. Boomer starting coming to campus as a puppy, and even as he got fully-grown he still tried to sit on people’s laps like he was still a little puppy 😂

As a large breed dog owner, I can confirm that I did indeed wake up one day and decide I wanted a horse in my house. As I described it to my family when they questioned my sanity, I said, "I want people to have to do a double take when I walk him because I want them to be unsure if I'm walking a bear, a small horse, or an unreasonably large dog."

I got exactly what I wanted. My family continues to question my sanity, but they love my dog.

i love how a lot of people are afraid of giant dogs but they are often the ones who are the gentlest dogs

Look how calm and patient he is. Big guy looks like he's genuinely enjoying himself.

I've never seen such a well-behaved bison in my whole life.
He was remarkably calm, even when you groomed his hooves.

It's great you're branching out and grooming horses.

He is so calm while the whole grooming session that i am literally thinking he came by himself and also paid the owner. The Handsome Devil.

This distinguished gentleman deserves the best of treats for being so patient and huggable during the whole grooming session

The fact that he doesn't sit that much during the groom, despite his size, is a true testament that his people is taking good care of him! ❤️

I used to see a bloke every morning walking three of these St Bernard dogs.

They were honestly as big as he was.

Placid animals, really nice..

I asked him one day where he takes them for their walks.

And what he said made me laugh.

He said...

"They take me wherever they want to go"

We had a St. Bernard named Pandora when I was growing up. She was the gentlest thing in the world. They're bred for empathy and to find people in the snow then sit with them and keep them warm. Thats why the dogs carry brandy -- for the lost human to drink and stay warm. RIP my dear Pandora.

As a fellow groomer of 30+ yrs, your comment about him taking 300yrs to dry, literally made me laugh out loud. 😂 I groom a ton of large beeeds, as they're my specialty. I can relate to your pain on the drying process!

Vanessa: „What a huge dog!“ 😳
Rumi: „What a tiny human!“ 🧐

The fact that you can fit 300 years into a few hours is a testament to your skill. You are truly a master of your craft!

I used to have a saint bernard, honestly some of my favorite dogs. I didn't have a choice in getting a near-horse in my home, but i dont regret it, she was a very loyal, loving dog. She would even help me walk around the house when I couldn't walk myself due to surgery. I miss her a lot

A friend of mine growing up had a St Bernard. If you sat on the sofa, get ready. You will be covered in slobber, but it's slobber of love. He was literally the biggest cuddle bug. And, he was so freaking heavy. He'd jump into your lap, and everyone gave an audible "oof" when he did.

As a St. Bernard owner I can say we just needed the extra love that comes with the extra horse size

we sometimes just wake up and say “i want a big dog” and truth be told! I have a St Bernard that is as big as this handsome man!! His name is yoshi and turns 2 years old next month by the time this comment was posted. Hes literally a puppy, jumping on my lap, giving him treats and just wanting to play. such an amazing dog he is and i cant get enough without him❤❤

As someone who had st Bernard's for 20 years and a Newfoundland for the past 0 I can say with my heart that there is a sence of comfort, love and joy that fills my heart when in the presence of these gentle giants that no other breeds give me . The work of bathing grooming and general upkeep of these magnificent animals pales into nothing compared to the love and joy the give me . I love that you are so kind and caring with your clients . Well done x
