As indicated in several of the comments below, the host of the '60 Eldorado Biarritz segment is an utter doofus, asking the most outrageously stupid questions. A second grader could have done a better job. I have several '59 and '60 Eldorado Seville cars. Magnificent engineering, incredible rolling pieces of art and great American car culture history. On a side note, I met Dave Holls in the early 1990's in Hickory Corners, MI at the amazing Gilmore Car Museum, where he was the emcee of an event where different models Cadillac were shown as a rolling exhibit. When a '59 Coupe de Ville was shown, he commented: "we thought we were doing the right thing then!" (Holls played a major role in designing the rear-end of the car, particularly the famous tail fins). When a 1960 model came across, he admitted that he liked the tamer redesign, saying that the overall car was better proportioned. What a memorable experience; as a car nut, I was grateful for that moment.

“Why is it so big?” He really delivers the hard-hitting questions. Is this guy really hosting this show?

1960 was one of my favorite Cadillac years. The 1960 Eldorado Coupe was beautiful in gold.

Beautiful Car.  My parents and I are Cadillac people and the oldest Cadillac so far is a 1961 Fleetwood Sixty Special in Driftwood beige and a light seaform green interior.  Its absolutely beautiful and is an Unrestored, All original example.  This car gets looks and compliments from people everywhere we go.  It is so much fun driving or being passenger inside.  They are quite powerful cars and get up to speed quicker than some of the new cars today.  I will always be driving an old Cadillac and for an everyday driver as well.  Forget all this Brand new junk.  I can't even look at them the same anymore.  Long Live All the Great Classic Cars from Detroit!!!

This guy totally missed Jay's joke about the odometer re-calibration. What a dork!

This is when America made cars! The '60 Caddy Eldorado IS the epitome of American automotive ingenuity pure and simple. IMO it just doesn't get any better than this. This is ART, a tribute to the legendary Harley Earl. It's a crying shame what has happened to the American auto industry. I really wonder what happened, where did America go wrong with the auto industry? The owner of the '60 Eldorado with his family in it to me represents the American dream. Wow isn't it just wonderful, he should be proud. Have a great day.

Agreed, all he did was demean and make fun of this classic - not a word about how no car today has a ride anything like one of these old beasts - ive driven 1000 mile trips in 60's and early 70's big cars and theres virtually nothing this roomy an comfortable - todays cars brake and handle much better granted, but now you feel every pavement strip and pebble in the damn road and the tight ass suspensions beat you to death on a long trip. I cherish every mile I spent in many of these cars.

I owned two of those "living rooms", a white 1960 Cadillac 4 door flat top (I called it the "great white shark") that still would not lean on tight turns even at 24 years old. It looked good but had mechanical problems.  And I had a green 1969 Fleetwood Brougham that had 96k when I sold it in 1985. The new owner of the '69 called it "the mafia wagon" while test driving it (LOL).  I sold them both to people who would give them a good home.

Shopping centers back in the day had parking spaces set at an angle so that it was much easier to moor one of those ships. I wish they still had those today as it is still too hard to maneuver into today's non-angled parking spaces in anything that is bigger than a "closet" row boat on land. Sure, one could only enter one way into those old angled parking lot "aisles", but the spaces were much easier to maneuver into.

Your El Dorado presenter is a real smart ass. Cars were big in the 59's and 60's because the public in general had the money to buy cars that were comfortable to ride in. Today's little jelly bean type vehicles are confining, expensive and all look the same.

Just got a California 1961 sedan deville with original black plate 3 weeks ago, now everyone in the neighbor slow down to take a look at  her in my drive way.

Beautiful car, My dad owned a Cadillac Buick Olds dealership from 58 to 72. He gave me a 1960 Eldorado Convertable, full options in 1970 when I graduated high school, I still had to pay the payments...It was red, with red/white leather, 390 3 2bbl carbs, 6k miles I was the coolest kid in my senior year, except for the kid that had the 70 chevelle conv. 454 LS7 460 hp. The girls liked my caddy better... I still have my cad, it's pretty run down. Thanks Jay---

Why is it they always have a compact car loving interviewer interviewing people with cadillacs? The dude has no clue on this car and theres no way he could ever do a decent job here. Just sad.

Well put -- I grew up with these big cars and miss them badly -- most of all I miss the style, roomy interiors, power and the ride - cars today ride like friggin go karts and beat you to death on a long trip - I had a few of these road locomotives back in the day and it seemed you could go as far as sleep would allow without getting road fatigue from every bump in the damn road. No they didn't handle or get great mileage, but they were of their time and we'll never see their like again.

Jay...XDDD ...I had two uncles in the used car bidness in New Orleans back in the 1940's and early 50's ...one of 'em specialized in mileage correction.

Imagine Jays insurance agent when he found out Jay was storing a Chevy Bolt in his garage with his hyper expensive collection.

The best part of this clip was the "gal" doing the intro and end. The Caddy was cool, but have to agree with most of the comments, the interviewer needs to be better informed

No car today has any of this class. Just plain ubiquitous copy cat cars. Automakers: Put design and reliability back together vs. this mass marketed tiring last for a few years no one looks or cares junk. The 1960 or any other classic I will take note of! Thanks for posting a REAL car!

I agree with others that the guy reviewing the 60 Eldorado Biarritz didn't get it, and also didn't know much about it.  Neither mentioned the differences between the Eldorado and other Cadillacs, the Eldorado's relative scarcity, or the extreme difference in value between an Eldorado Biarritz, a Series 62 convertible, or a four window Series 62 sedan.  The Jay Leno part of the show was good though.  Showing Jay Leno right before the review of the Eldorado makes the Cadillac reviewer seem like a complete idiot.

That interviewer sure asks some stupid questions and makes some dumb statements- Why is this car so big? Why not be positive and show the motor? That guy shouldn't even be doing an interview asking such a STUPID question, maybe he was living on Mars or something saying that-That Caddy should be able to do 75 on the highway like nothing, my Father had a 66 Toronado and that thing sure would cruise, all those huge cars were noted for some top speed as well as cruising over the speed limit-
