Brief meteorological overview of this morning's (January 16, 2022) tornadoes in central/southern Florida. At first glance, the setup may have seemed unfavorable for severe weather, but on further inspection, this was a classic low-instability-high-shear setup, which we'll discuss in the video.

Excellent discussion!!! As a Floridian chaser, I can comfortably say I’ve gotten some of the more particularly interesting storms in my few years, it’s a breath of fresh air to see someone cover this! Typically nobody wants to dive into our storm events because they are not classic supercell/tornado alley style setups. Would love to see more of these! Subscribed!

Thank you for another class! A question I have is would the ocean/gulf have anything to do with the low level CAPE values? I would guess that it would affect the temperature and humidity in a positive way towards a denser CAPE range but that feels like a shot in the dark hypothesis and I only just learned what CAPE was through this video and some googlepedia. Hopefully that makes sense and look forward to the next one. :)

Edit: Also big fan of the annotate tool!
