"It's kind of like felt . . . but it's . . . paper." That really made me laugh. The scissors age a great idea. You definitely want separate pairs for paper and fabric. :}

I love Cross Stitching!  I actually have some software (PC Stitch is what I use but I know there are others) that my friend gave me so I can make my own out of what ever picture I want.  So I have made a bunch of geeky ones like Firefly, LOTR, BSG, Angel, etc.  It's an awesome purchase for someone that is really into cross stitch, but is bored of the patterns you find in the store.
