I have bought the carbon version, i am an advanced snowboarder, I have test them 2 times till now, took me a little bit to find the right setting for my boots, there are what they say if you make the settings right, they give an amazing feeling of responsiveness and my knees are not hurting at the end of the day !!! Great choice for people that seek stiff/responsive bindings with that really amazing drop in system !!! Nice video and it is as you said !!!!

Another great video malcolm. I had my 1st season on the supermatics last yewasand was using my DC boots. I liked the binding but at times I found sometimes difficult to get in and out not big problems but just when the board wasn't totally flat. I have just received today the nidecker rift boots in white which look awesome and feel so comfy straight out of the box. Got my board out in my bedroom and tried them and omg the boot goes in and out so much easier than my DC boots. So although you can use any boot with them I think I will find np problems with my new boots. It's not just a marginal difference the rift just glide in and out and that's with a dry binding so it's a big difference and can't wait to hit the hill with my new set up. Also I love your 3 points at the end and couldn't agree more with all you said. We are all snowboarders at the end of the day. Keep up the good work malcolm I'm looking forward to your next video 😊

Thanks for the video. It's a shame Nidecker do not mention the weight of the bindings on their website. I would hope that the carbon version offer a weight saving over the original Supermatic?

So glad I saw you mention them in your latest video. Just got back from 7 days in CO and the annoyance of strapping in when hitting 25-30 lifts a day is very high! Can't wait for next month in Vail with these!

I love these. Want a pair so bad. I dreamt up this design 20+ years ago when I first started snowboarding. In my mind this was the best way to make step-in bindings. If only I knew business engineering and marketing period I could have been rich doing what I love. Boo boo such is life 🙄😓🤣

When learning to snowboard constantly strapping in and out going up and down a baby slope was a horrible surprise, i hadnt really given it any thought before taking it up and it was the worst part. 2 or 3 minutes to faff about just to do 10 half baked skids and fall on my arse. Then going out into the mountains and it's -15C, 3000m above sea level and blowing 80kmh winds, you really just want to get in and go, not screw about with ratchets clogged up with snow whilst all the skiers bomb off. Supermatics all the way 🎉

Good review Malcolm, probably not worth the upgrade for me. Appreciate your honesty about expectations.Totally love my Supermatics and dont miss bending down ratcheting. My only gripe is that its still a bit of a stretch down to the lever to release and open up the binding so I improvise and use the selfie stick of insta360; works a treat and saves me bending all the way down.

I really like my regular supermatics. They are a *bit* loose but it’s just fine for most features. The convenience they provide is unmatched, especially being the only snowboarder in my family of skiers

First season on the regular Supermatic and they already exceeded my expectations! I do not think I would go back on the regular bindings. Will consider the carbon version as well but probably will get another set of regular ones. Also Nidecker licensed (not sure this is the right term) the Supermatic tech to Bent Metal and Salomon so we will see their versions soon. Thank you for these bindings, Nidecker! They are the first true innovation in soft snowboard bindings since these were implemented.

I think the Supermatics are pretty cool. I had a pair of K2 Cinches for 10 seasons because I fancied step ins and Nidecker didn't release the Supermatics yet.

I ended up replacing my step ins for traditional straps but I figured out if I leave the toe strap engaged one click and leave the ankle/ladder straps behind the highback so the are out of the way I am able to step in and strap in while riding 🏂

Super clean carving lines! 👌Do you notice the increased weight of these bindings over standard ones whilst riding? When reading reviews the additional weight is always a discussed point
