I realized why people film. Right before someone does something cool or dangerous, they hand their friend their phone so they don't drop/ break it and the friend starts messing with the phone then sees the thing happen and starts filming.

I saw that same vid of the guy who essentially smashed his face open on the concrete between the blood, the girls in the background screaming and the hospital footage afterwards it was horriffic - poor guy! i've never grasped the concept of 'tombstoning' the name itself is enough to make you think twice but then its no different to basejumping or kite surfing or any other extreme sport. i'll never forget watching that video seeing his tongue moving within this gaping hole where his face should have been.
