Steam Families (Beta) - TRUE Family Game Sharing Is Finally Here?

In the past, Steam Family Sharing was a complete mess. Hard to set up (and sometimes to keep running) and often deauthorized your family members, it only allowed you to share your LIBRARY as a WHOLE.

Other consoles and game systems allow for per game sharing - not just at the account level.

Does Steam Families fix all this? What other changes are here? Let's find out together.

For the consoles if you own more the 1 game system and you have 2 people trying to playing two different games on the same account you shouldn't be blocked from doing it. If it's possible with physical disc digital ahould be able to do the same.

Question. If I have 20 games. I wanna share only selected 4 out of my 20 games to a "child", can I manually choose which those 4 games that I wanna share?

I have tried this myself, the sad part is that you CANT play the shared games at the same time the original owner is playing. Thats a shame, still better than current family share tho!

2:14 You wrote that if we had more than one copy between all members, we could play at the same time, but it doens't work for us. We were 3 people and we tried to play Getting over it, two of us had the game but only 2 people could play together. So what do you mean by "the licences are pooled" ?

Is this totally safe, what are the chances of getting vac banned. For example if i created the family and someone in my family buy a game by using vpn or cheats in a game from their library (not the shared one) will i get ban also

If a family member gets hack or something your account could be in danger?? I mean, we don´t share any tipe of private info wile being in the same family, but i still have that doubt.

If family member A owns lets say Terraria, Persona, and CS, can family member A play CS while member B plays Terraria while family member C plays Persona? or is 1 members library locked while a game of theirs is in play?

Definitely one of the best features Steam has ever Introduced. With this you don't need to buy multiple copies of the same game unless that publisher doesn't allow it to be Shared or if both of you want to play that game at the same time. Also you can check the total number of that games in your family management profile.

The only cons right now is i don't know where to look if my families own the game dlcs

Hi, did you ever figure out how to play family member's copy of a game? Apparently it's possible to choose which copy to play but I have no idea how. Would be nice if someone has figured it out.

does it use my save for all the members or each member gets their own save
and same for online games do they ruin my rank or they get their own progress

Do you have to be in the same household to share games with people? My friend tried accepting my invite but it said "Failed to accept the family invite. You are ineligible to join, as your Steam Activity doesn't indicate youre in the same household as other family members"
