People should not attempt needle chest decompression without at least paramedic or some sort of combat medic training.

As a corpsman i have to say save up and get an ifak. An actually ifak has far more than that. On the civilian side you can get ones that can treat you and 2 other while still being compact and still being capable of treating various grades and types of injuries.
PS: always, even if not included, have some duck tape and triangle bandages. There the most versatile pieces you'll ever have in an injury.

For the love of god if you aren’t trained to do chest decompression don’t do it.

Don’t buy the pack with those if you aren’t trained on how to use them.

My agency sent me to North American rescue in Spartanburg SC for med training and it was the best I’ve ever gotten. Y’all need to go there

I dont recommend doing a needle D on anyone unless its last resort. You can end up in a huge lawsuit if something goes south or you dont place it in the correct position. Best thing to do is chest seal, some sort of recovery position, and to monitor respiratory function until ems arrives

i would recommend Refuge Medical for Kits, Supplies and Training. Their training is far better than any other training experience i have seen.

I agree with its uselessness without training. But not necessarily useless in combat. If your buddy can use them, sometimes it's a lifesaver if you could just have your own blowout. Same goes for breaching tools like slaps, prybar, cutters, or halligan. Don't have to be the one who's packin' to do the job. You could take them from your buddy and knock the door yourself if you know how to.

Clot pads, the ones the Army gives you. They are adhesive. One of the best inventions ever. You can keep one in each of your back pockets.

If anyone wants some NSN numbers for quality North American rescue products let me know. I have countless supplies and various medical bags from extra supplies I use at work. I am a hospital corpsman.

I was expecting you to say that the blue parts are IR reflectors and should be covered because a tango with NODs can see it too.

I’m an emergency doctor’s kid, I can literally save your life with a ball point pen, razor blade and a couple napkins

If you carry a gun you should also carry basic emergency medical supplies. Just my opinion. If guns come out, people are likely getting shot, and you can’t predict how, when or where something might go down. You need to be ready to take responsibility for what you are prepared to do with your gun, as well as for the aftermath of whatever situation caused you to use it. Seems like an obvious necessity to me. You carry a gun to be responsible for your safety (and the safety of those around you if you so choose) injuries are intrinsically part of that and also simply more likely to be encountered in life regardless of if a gunfight occurs. Its not sexy but its part of taking responsibility for yourself.
