Asics MetaSpeed Edge Paris Review - Fast but...

The ASICS Metaspeed Edge Paris is a really fast but firm racer best suited to half marathons. It has a stiff midsole with an aggressive forefoot rocker but the new FF Turbo+ foam doesn't compress much so you don't get a very bouncy ride. The Edge Paris is lighter and more cushioned than its predecessor but still not soft enough for full marathons.

The absence of aggressive rocker is a hint from the manufacturer that you should land accurately on forefoot, so you would get maximum benefit from the shoes. Actually some racing shoes are made with highly specific for athletes that means the shoes are not perfectly suitable for amateur runners and the other hand some shoes are widely accomodating amateur runners.

Ran the Berlin marathon with these shoes and had blisters all over my toes - never had this with any other shoe. The're super light, yet not comparable to the Nike supeshoes.

hey i bought the new edge paris for 800m as i am a 800m runner but not a professional 800m runner. i bought it beacuse i heard it's very fast but since you said its doesnt have an agressive forefoot rocker, now i a bit what to say lets say have doubts about the edge paris.

I races my fastest Half Marathon in Edge PARIS, good shoe to locked in threshold effort, but not the best. I think Sky PARIS fits my footstrike better 🙃

I see your yellow bits are flaking off too. Poor quality control for the price. However cant agree with you that it feels firm or that it isn't soft and bouncy. I notice you state your heel was sore after your 39km run. At what point did it get sore? I just completed a HM at the weekend and didnt feel any foot pain whatsoever and i'm 100kg! I know it's a shorter distance but I usually suffer from achilles pain amd get none in this shoe.
