I have data points which are related to the bathymetry datas taken by a ship, how can i show a vector lines on each point of my data to show my ship move angle?

This video shows that you can't directly edit a GPS track (i.e. a .gpx file) in QGIS. This video shows how to copy the GPS points into an ESRI Shape file that can be edited. It doesn't show how to edit an ESRI Shape file.
