On September 22, 2023, Suzanne Morphew's remains were discovered, three years after her sudden disappearance on May 10, 2020. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation stumbled upon her remains during a search of an area in Moffat, Saguache County, as part of a separate investigation, breathing new life into the famously cold case of Suzanne Morphew’s disappearance. A tumultuous personal life and an inconsistent recollection of events first pointed toward the husband as the likely suspect in what the police believed to be a murder. However, new evidence has called into question the two-year-long crusade. Over 70 investigators invested 1,000 hours of work into Suzanne’s case. 135 search warrants were issued, and dozens of over 400 people were interviewed before the police felt confident in charging Barry with the first-degree murder of his wife.

His treatment of animals is a dead giveaway of his mental state.

There was not anyone else that would have done that. She was a very loved woman. His stories do not make sense at all. Who uses tranquilizers to get antlers? I live near the area where the lived and I have never heard of that. And Im pretty sure no one runs around and shoots chipmunks all over. He tranquilized her and was chasing her around until she went down which is why his phone pinged all over the yard.
I also heard that the "serial killer" DNA was not accurate and then heard that there was DNA from someone else in one location in her vehicle but not the helmet. It could have been someone working on her car or something.
Her bike apparently looked like it was just set down and her water backpack that she brought on her bike rides was still in her car. The location is a very unlikely area for a random killer to be roaming around. It only makes sense that Barry did it. So sad 😢

He killed his wife and he’s a poacher. I hope he goes to prison for both.

There was a case where they couldn’t find a serial killer, they knew it was the same person because the dna matched every crime scene. They then realized it was a lab worker’s dna that was contaminating the samples. It’s odd that this case sounds similar, he lied wayyy too much to be innocent

I cannot believe he is free, he’s as guilty as sin! I pray justice is served for poor Suzanne, and his daughters remove their blinders!

He was a controlling, abusive prick who also hurt animals…, he absolutely killed her.

The most disgusting part of this story is the daughters. They have to know he killed their mother yet still support him. So gross.

It kills me that he is getting away with this. What in the hell is going on in Colorado?

I am so sick and tired and also horrified to see women being murdered at the hands of their psycho boyfriends/ husbands. How coward can one be to lay hands on a woman? Rest easy, princess.

This is so sad, because it appears that Suzanne Morphew believed that her husband had the potential to be dangerous yet did not act on that suspicion to protect herself. I know a women who believed her husband had the potential to harm or murder her and she fled and went into hiding in order to save herself. This women is still alive.

Why would the two daughters go with dad on Mother’s Day and leave her alone until the evening? That is just weird

Very disturbing. Shocking that his daughters look so bubbly and happy as they walk with him. I can only think that either they must really believe he's innocent, or maybe there was hate in the relationship between the mother and the daughters.

He tranquilized elk and stole their horns?!?! I've never heard of such a thing. This obviously already screamed that he was a monster. He is a demon.

This guy will eventually go to trial and be convicted for murder in the first degree now that they have found Susanne’s body…he is both a pathological liar and serious narcissist…

What kind of a psycho tranquilizes animals and then savages their poor little defenseless bodies? And chipmunks??? RIP Suzanne 🙏🏿

The cell phone and telematic data from his car, the car door opening and closing 80 times, the one single dish in the sink, the five garbage (body?) bags, the multiple changing of his clothing, the texts, the affair with Jeff she was having, tranquilizer cap, spy pin data, all leads me to conclude that he is Guilty as Sin.

Maybe there’s a reason she told her best friend she was afraid to be alone with him!

He was losing her and he knew it…. And couldn’t handle it. IMO 🤷‍♀️
