The best push stick is the that gets the job done while it keeps you safe. Thanks for the design, simple and functional.

I came back to make a comment.
I made 4 of these when you published the video. I am due to make another set as the original push sticks have done their job and are ready for the scrap bin.
Thanks for sharing the design.

Jay, two minutes after watching your video I was in the shop.  About five minutes later I was trying out my new pusher.  I used a scrap of 2x6 cedar which I jointed the bottom edge square with the fence side, I then cut a pleasing shape on the bandsaw, add a sacrificial piece of 1/2" mdf (I made 3 and drilled them at the same time) to the rear and sanded the what need to be smooth.  I didn't drill the hole,  I don't seem to need it. O my gosh, what an improvement over the 1/2" mdf pushers I had been using.  The rip cuts are smoother and I feel like I am in more control.  I guess it cost whatever two screws cost.

I watched this video when you first released it. My disabled DiL has started and selling making small wooden home decor and holiday themed items, but she and my son had limited woodworking tools. I’ve given them my 10” band saw, miter saw, electric sander, nail gun and other misc tools. Tomorrow they are coming to pick up my table saw. I remembered this video today and made them the push block to go with the push sticks and sled that I already have. I modified it slightly by using a round over bit on the upper edges and thumb hole, sanded and spray painted it bright red so they won’t forget where it is. They are so excited. I would rather them enjoy my tools now than waiting until after I’m gone (now retired).

They live not far from you, Jay, north of Pontotoc.

Love the design simplicity as well as the versatility. Many other videos are using router tables, band saws, drill presses, etc which I don't have.

I like the big size you get from a 2x6. I make push sticks by the dozens when I don't have anything in the works. I have them on a shelf and in a holder on my saw. I also give them to people I know who do woodworking as a reminder to work safe. I even give them to my mailman, good guy that he is, and a woodworker. .

Nice design and nice video. I've got a couple push sticks that were pieces of wood in my shop that happened to be about the size of a push stick and maybe I cut a notch on them when I first got my table saw. But as I get more into using it and now my daughter's an architect student and she's home on break trying to fabricate one of her first projects. Watching your daughter push wood through a table saw makes your heart skip a beat a little bit and it made me realize I need to up the quality and options of push sticks I have so I'm going to go down and make one like this right now. Thanks again.

Jay, I have now built a handful of this push stick for myself and some friends. The only modification I have made is to rout a simple roundover on the hole. I push a lot of thin material so it works great. Thanks!

Great, simple video. Love how the piece sticks out the side to push both pieces through the blade!

I recently made this exact push stick after watching your video. I have to say, It really is the best push stick Ive tried. I'm actually using it more than my Grripper from Microjig. Excellent excellent push stick.

Oh boy this gripper is a winner because it is super inexpensive and easy to make. Safe and you can do anything with it. Thumbs up buddy.

I replicated this push stick up at our trailer. I had to use my battery powered circular saw to make the diagonal cuts and a large forstner bit and jig saw to make the handle cutout. Then, I used a small drum sander with my battery powered drill to smooth it out. I have to saw that it works like a charm! Nice design, Jay!

Hi Jay, you could make your rear angle 45° and your front 30°. Then you can use it for rough marking out also! I do like it, I'll make a couple.

One side note is that when you're using a hole saw -- to keep the blocks of wood from getting stuck in the bit stop cutting after the drill goes through the other side of the wood and put your jig saw blade in the drill bit hole and make two relief cuts to the edge of the circle.  It just takes a couple seconds and it saves a lot of work trying to get that chunk of wood out

I've used all sorts of designs for push sticks, but this one makrs more sense than any I've seen or used. Nice job! Thanks for sharing this with us!!!

I am making thin strips and none of my push blocks felt safe. I made this super quickly, it feels good and the sacrificial bit with the catch in the back just made making the thin cuts feel safe and controlled!

Jay this was one of the early projects I saw when I was getting into woodworking. It was an eye opener for me. I'm sure that this has saved me countless times. A lot of your oldest videos were popping up on my feed lately and I'm loving them all over again.

One of the simplest, best tips I've ever seen. Made and use these all the time! Thanks, Jay.
