One tip from a scoll saw user. When gluing a paper template to wood, put down a layer of painter's tape. that will help tremendously when removing the paper. appreciate the videos!

I prefer that my push sticks/blocks have smooth, rounded corners and edges. I had a push block hit the saw blade and kick back at me, and the sharp corner tore into my palm with a great enough force to injure me. Now all my push sticks/blocks are user-friendly.

Love the design. Probably the best looking push stick on the internet. For the little cleat on the back end, instead of gluing it on, you could try a couple threaded inserts, a couple short pieces of all thread, a couple wing nuts and slotted holes on the cleat. That way you can slide it up when you don’t want the cleat, and slide it down when you do.

I think I’d round over those finger holes. I’m going to try making similar. It solves the short grain cantilever pistol grip problem and it’s easier to make.

Great push stick design. Simple, solid, and safe.
BTW: I have been using the Katz-Moses shop apron for two months and it is terrific. I consider it a piece of shop clothing. I use it every time I am in the shop and I appreciate it every time I use it. Thanks!

Great design Jonathan. I like the Pistol Pete antics that they allow! Just need a couple hooks on the 'ol apron to keep them within quick draw reach.
