Pascal Cotte, a scientist who studied the famous Mona Lisa for over 15 years, recently looked through over 1650 images taken by an extremely high-tech camera. He did this to uncover the secrets beneath the finished masterpiece. He found out there was a hidden drawing beneath the paint.
It all started in 2004 when the Louvre Museum in Paris allowed Pascal to take photographic scans of the Mona Lisa. The only reason he could do such a thing was that Pascal had recently invented a highly sensitive multispectral camera. Since 2004, he has been going through the images trying to recreate the traces of the old work underneath the Mona Lisa.

Any artist will tell you that normal you do layout and composition be details it's like saying under this shell of a car we found a frame. Or when we looked at the blue prints to the house it's a little different... because once you build unforseen corrections always need to be made.

I’m still bothered that she’s actually smiling now when before she never was…

I think Mona Lisa is not a single person but many. Leonardo Di vinchi tried to blend the many person to make one person painting which is Mona Lisa

Leo projected an image of his model with a camera lucida. The lines revealed are the marks he made to save the important features quickly and accurately. The image wouldve been reversed, and inverted, without adding an extra concave mirrored lens.

Overrated painting. And who cares. It’s not like you’ve all seen it in person.

I guess paintings are all the same, if you paint a picture and especially that of a person, and you want to paint an identical picture the first one, it's never identical just like all man are created equal no one looks identical even though the nose, eyes, mouth seem to be the same there is a difference between each and everyone of us, unless you're an identical twins .

Do y'all in the comments know that this is one of the most famous paintings in the world if not the most famous? And so a great many people are going to be interested in this who don't know about art and don't know anything about the types of things you would do?

Let people learn stuff without crapping all over them for not knowing what we know like is that okay or do we all need to just feel superior here
