First female demo pilot for the Blue Angels

Lt. Amanda Lee became the first woman to be selected as a demo pilot for the elite U.S. Navy squadron. ABC News’ Mona Kosar Abdi has her story.

When "Revlon" bought it because she could barely pass Carrier Quals, but they pushed her along anyway. I thought why?
When U.S. Army hand selected and pre-trained (before RIP) 100+ females, only to (with a LOT of help) graduate 3 Female Army Rangers. I thought why?
I can only HOPE that Lt. Lee is one hell of a Pilot, who EARNED her slot through Merit & Ability and NOT because "it's time".
We'll see, and either way, I genuinely wish her the success.

I hope she's up for the challenge. But spouting out the big three buzzwords "race, gender, ethnicity" is a very big red flag for me. How about we just select the best person for the job?

I'll play devils advocate. What you don't know is the 1-6 demo pilots don't wear G Suits, so they have to be able to handle those forces during the demo. The stick has 40lbs of pull on it, they have to hold that stick for over an hour making micro adjustments in these tight formations. That SHOULD make you think for a second.

I'm a guy and I think she just did one of them hottest things in the world she is the Jackie Robinson and we all know who he is I think of the fighter pilot world she was very very hard and had to overcome adversities being the first woman and what was totally a man's field I wish nothing but the best

I am so proud of her that is truly amazing!!!
Gods I would Love to Not have my Gender count against me. Let alone my sexual identity. I’m the B in the LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈 I’m happy with who and “what” (as so many Love to call us) I am. I would love to feel safe when stating WHO, not What, I am. Being a “What”, or an hateful “them, they, ” and my absolute (NOT!!!) Favorite, “It”. We are not giant parallel universe monsters that turn into giant arachnids that can be defeated by an inhaler, and the power of your mind! I know! It’s a real big shock isn’t “it”?
