Are you confused between mediation and moderation of variables? Worry not - this video will clear the air! In this tutorial, we'll be discussing the differences between mediation and moderation of variables.

Mediation occurs when a third variable is present and it explains the relationship between two other variables. In other words, the third variable is an intermediary between the two variables being studied. For example, if we wanted to study the relationship between TV viewing and grades, we could hypothesize that the amount of time spent studying is the mediator between TV viewing and grades.

Moderation occurs when a third variable affects the relationship between two other variables. For example, if we wanted to study how much time people spend on social media and how it affects their productivity, we could hypothesize that the amount of self-control someone has would moderate the relationship between time on social media and productivity.

So there you have it! Mediation and moderation of variables - simple as that. Tune in for more tutorials where we'll explore these concepts in more detail. See you later!
