I think cypher is an agent who can be a game changer based on your personal game style.

For me, when I play cypher, I see if my team is able to enter site and get a plant. If no one can then I will.
On defense, I basically put traps in such a way that they feel they got the site and then suddenly gets bullied by my traps :-p

sadly most of this is true, however a true cypher main can make the entire game play into his hands and he simply has to play his setups and switch them up all the time. the real trick to playing cypher is to know your enemys position without them knowing yours. thats why phantom is better for a cypher main, since it doesnt have tracers. yes he can be aggresive, but i think he is a jack of all trades. you can be aggresive with deep info and caging angles and lurking. you can also be sneaky with corner cages and different one-ways. just having a cypher on your team can make the attackers not touch a site entirely. cypher is very strong in the current meta, but because of his hard to learn kit unfortunately he is the least played agent.

sometime playing in a minority style, doesn't mean it's the best, that's because a lot of cypher players have the exact same game style it doesn't mean that the small amount of it has the best, as a cypher main, defending flanks of your teammates is pretty much the best way to play cypher, and believe me this is coming from a player who is South African, and with high ping comes its disadvantage but when you have a tripwire and you're defending flanks you become a radiant.

im a cypher main and playing him is not just fun but very challenging to play. when i play offense i play him more as a lurker aslong as you know where enemy pos is and predicting where they might go and on defense putting trips on an ''expect the unexpected spots'' and using his cages as baits and also using my cam oftently and being ready for a retake if enemy takes the site. tbh many players i played appreciates my cypher plays and also how im using my comms giving us a higher chance of winning.

I play cypher non aggressively and love it, mostly use his util to block off the entrances to a site completely and move to the other, or prevent the opponent from flanking unnoticed. Swaps between attack and defense.
