Great video and fair opinions. I just looked through these scopes all setup side by side. 750 yards and beyond. I could not tell a difference in picture quality. I was reading writing on a gas pump at 750 yards easily with all three. This was mid day, bright conditions. The cost difference to me did not justify itself. Bought the Diamondback and spent the extra cash on a window mount and tripod. Lighting conditions will likely show differences between the three but for me and what my usage will be the Diamondback is perfect.

I also did the same comparison with Viper binoculars and went with Diamondback HD 10-50’s.

Thanks for the informative video. You guys under estimated the range use. It takes a lot to be able to see .223 bullet holes at 200 yards. I hope you cover different applications in more dept in a video. When i am at the range, I care the least about ruggedness. All I need is clarity and eye relief especially at high magnifications like 60x.

Enjoyed the video and the information sharing. I have learned to glass, when I use a spotting scope, with both eyes open which totally reduces eye strain. I have two spotting scopes, an old B&L x60mm and a Sightron x65 and they fit my needs simply because I use a spotting scope less than 5% of the time. If I need to see something more than a mile away I simply pick up and move. The terrain can change a lot in 2 or 3 miles and you may not be able to see into those terrain features from a distance so it is better to just move. Excellent video though for those that may use spotting scopes more than I.

I have the Vortex Crossfire binoculars. Recently upgraded to the 12x50 Dimaomdback Hd. Night and day difference. I can now see down into shadowed canyons, and into the sun.
Makes you wonder, how much game did you miss seeing with the cheapest glass? Was that worth not saving another $100-200? Nope.

Have you compared these three outside? Was looking for something a little more definitive like the razor has slightly better colour, contrast etc, but is hitting diminishing returns and not worth 3x the price.

My rule of thumb is: If you want to use a spotting scope for its intended purpose and actually validate what you're looking at, get the best one you can afford. I bought the Diamondback and it's great for the gun range. Other than that, when I'm trying to identify birds hundreds of yards away, it's really difficult to get any detail. For the money it's hard to beat a spotting scope in its price range, but most binos do the job better than it with more clarity.

Target acquisition is exactly why I prefer the straight! I love hunting open country deer in NM and AZ! I have a Viper 20-60x85 and will not be hiking in with it, but instead from the truck and basecamp and short distance on foot. My question is for my style of hunting, would the Razor HD 11-33x50 be a good choice for going to the next ridge and searching another 1000 yards of open country? Keep in mind open country does not mean devoid of terrain and desert vegetation from yucca's to pinion and junipers.

I've got some vortex 10x40 binoculars very clear glass, I've been looking for a spotting scope.i noticed you have 3 and there's only 2 of you😀.
I'm actually thinking of getting the 16-48x65 mainly because of the price. I just can't allow myself to spend more.

great video! i need a spotting scope for target shooting to see 100 yards for my 223 and 556. I am not a hunter but might use it for bird watching. Seems like diamondback is best bet. How do these compare to the $180 celestrons? what’s the best value spotting scope out there for the money?

How would you compare the gen 1 vs gen 2 razor spotting scopes? Do you prefer the knob style focus on the gen 1 or the helical style on the gen 2? Is there quilting difference of the 2 in sight picture?

I have a pair of vortex viper binos, thinking about buying the viper sporting scope, Is it better for me to just purchase a tripod for the binos?

Maybe a dumb question but if you rotate the angled scope on the tripod, are you looking at crooked image?
