For me, I see his attack coming..I quick step..then I see my character spawning at the lamp.

In some earlier ng+ play through just call Valtr who is just outside the boss room. He basically staggers, aggros and never dies. He’s litteraly the best summon I’ve had. And also kill the guy banging on the gate near him. He’ll give you 5 blood vials every time.

There’s a couple things that make this easier, at the start when he jumps at you initially dodge roll or quickstep into him and start smashing his left leg. If it breaks move straight to the right and try break that then the head. With that prolonged jump attack he makes a very distinctive scream the second before he’s about to fall down

Beasthunter Saif is also an excellent weapon against this boss, the first light attack always being a lunge really helps with keeping up with his fast movements

This biggest problem with these guides is that most people can't seem to tell the difference between "his left" and "your left". Ludwig's left is the side where his arm is lowered and the most dangerous side to be on. What you mean is "his right".

At first I was sure that Ludwig was the hardest boss I would ever fight in this game, but I ended up dying to the orphan literally 34 times after this lmao.

I found the second phase to be a lot easier than the first one, more manageble.
Holy shit is this DLC hard!!
Valtr can really help if you just can't kill Ludwig ( really useful on low levels).

The worse thing about this fight is the sudden huge drop in fps while in phase 2 especially in his swiping attacks. Both play through which helped me out tremendously was adding fire paper and beast blood pellet. Horse staggers so much it doesn't even have a chance to fight
