I got to meet Conan one time in an airport. I didn’t want to take up his time so I was very quick with my interaction but he stopped me as I was leaving and asked me if I wanted a picture. I also called him Mr. O’Brien and he said “Please. Please. You can call me Sir.” He’s a hilarious and genuine man from what I can tell.

Conan’s most impressive trait is that he’s the only Harvard graduate who won’t tell you so immediately after being introduced.

I went to a Conan taping in 2004 and we waited after the show to try and get a photo with him, he was so kind and funny in person, we asked “can we get a photo?”, he said “yeah hurry up I got a date with Paris Hilton tonight”
We said “wow really?” He said “no I’m going home alone” and then the cleaning lady came by and he was making wisecracks with her, truly a wonderful moment meeting him…

My youth pastor used to tell the story all the time, he was in New York and randomly saw Conan O'Brien walking down the street, surrounded by a giant circle of fans wanting his autograph. Keep patiently waiting and asked if he could please have his autograph, he said sure thing, signed it for him, and my youth pastor said thank you so much. Conan stopped dead in his tracks, looked him right in the eyes and said " you're the first person to thank me today" and gave him a very genuine hug.

He said that such a small gesture of kindness can go a long way, that although he's a celebrity he is also a very genuine human being just like everyone else, which leads me to believe every positive story I have ever heard in my life about Conan O'Brien.

I’ve met Conan multiple times, all of them on accident. Twice at an airport, once on the street of NY and a different time when he came into a place I worked at. After the first two times he actually remembered my name. When I saw him the last time at the place that I worked I joked, “it’s like the universe is saying something to us” and he said “Yeah it’s saying ‘stop stalking me’” hes such a genuine person and makes such quick remarks. He made everyone at my work laugh and was so kind to everyone. Such a legend.

I met Conan at a former coworkers wedding. My former coworker's mom was his nanny. He was with his daughter. I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to go up while the wedding was going on. But he was so inviting and genuine. He couldn't stay long. But the fact he came out to his Nanny's son's wedding and had a good time. Says a lot. James Corden doesn't even know his drivers name

Conan's humor is evergreen. Other hosts rely so heavily on topical humor and gimmicky jokes, while Conan's humor is genuinely timeless. I've been a fan of his since I was a kid in the 90's and he's still the best many years later.

Bro, he lost his dream job, but in doing so get his staff nearly $50m in severance and took them all with him to his next gig, where he could do whatever he wanted and smashed the ratings his way. He went from winning to winning and managed to help his entire staff win as well, and launched entire-ass careers. The man is a legend.

Conan is the guy who acts like a dick on screen, but a sweetheart when nobody is watching. The opposite of most late night hosts

This is great. I feel the same about Craig Ferguson. When most late night hosts were making fun of Britney Spears for shaving her head and the umbrella video, Craig said he saw someone that needs help. He brought up his own battles with alcohol & drugs and that he could relate to her.

Craig Ferguson was 1st class. That's why he left Hollyweird.

When I met Conan, he came up to me and said "Get me a Denver omelette, I went to Harvard." Then, he spit at my feet. We were at the gym.

No one but Conan could do those skits with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. No one else has the authenticity and self confidence while also not taking himself so damned serious.

Being a fan of his starting on Late Night, I’m happy to see him getting the flowers he deserves.

There is a reason why O'Brien leaving The Simpsons caused a downhill in quality for 20+ seasons.

Conon and Craig Ferguson were the only late night hosts I ever bothered to actually watch.

Don't you dare bring Craig Ferguson into this. The man is a treasure, and his interviews ( especially with actresses ) were hilarious.

That said, Conan during the writer's strike was what really set him apart from everyone else. He took his own absurd humor, cranked it up to 11, and just rolled with it. I remember when he put his desk on a scissor lift. Who else would've done that? No one. The man is one of a kind.

The fact he fired someone for being mean to server says a lot about his character

For someone who likes to crush his enemies, see them driven before him, and to hear the lamentations of their women, Conan is a really chill guy.

I think Conan dodged a bullet. Lost his dream job but that dream job really doesn’t seem so good now.

Love Conan, but can we all agree Craig Ferguson should be in the same category as Conan?
